Going to go super clean. One small meal at first on saturday. Build gradually. Pretty sure I would immediately upchuck a dirty bloatmaxx meal if I tried.

The biggest relative benefit is weight loss for obese people and type 2 diabetics. For a leaner person, you are probably correct.

Not down anything crazy. As of this morning I was 205 and change, down from 220. But I feel way different the past couple days and am in deep ketosis. My breath and urine smell something fierce. Stomach pain is gone, energy levels are up, mental state way better. It's a very unique sensation, hard to describe but nothing like I've done before even when I was a hardcore athlete.

Losing weight is not a reason to fast. Once you starve (fast) for a few days your body starts breaking down muscle because its the easier route than breaking down fat. This is accelerated by having next to no energy so the body thinks it doesn't need muscle anymore as the body is not exercising. It ALWAYS thinks it needs fat and only towards the latter stages of starving will the body break down fat.

Fastin also shrinks the internal organs, and not in a good way.

I want to believe. You have pics of scale? Anything? Not hating OP, but I'm having trouble believing in the veracity of this fast since I have read some of your posts on other threads

No I took zero pics since this was on a whim and I've since learned this is still just a baby fast. Real fasts start at 21 days, which I absolutely plan on doing next time. I'll do a dexa scan before and after that one and post it up.

I'm on cruise control these last few days. I get how people sometimes just keep going once they break through the initial wall.

Please don't be a dumb ass.

Ease your way back to eating.

If you can even eat a big meal after, I bet you throw it all back up.

We made it boys. Fukkin did it. 12 days no food. Had to do a couple extra reps for the corps. Long story short, I'm super stoked with how it went and am already planning on a 21 day fast in the future. Today I'm starting with a little greek yogurt and kampachoochoo tea and will build from there. Plan is to eat minimally for a few days at least.

Negatives:
- Days 1-4 sucked when my body freaked out, especially since I did zero prep or really even researched it much beforehand
- Bad stomach pain and headaches early on, flu-like symptoms on day 4
- Never realized how much of my social life revolves around eating and drinking, brb staying in every night alone for the most part
- Not a crazy amount of weight loss, went from 220 to almost 200 on the dot, but I'm sure some was water
- Sleep pattern is disturbed, though mine was less severe than some
- You will lose a tiny amount of lean body mass, but I think this is largely overblown
- Energy level down, less so once you break through the wall, but still down overall
- Best way to extended fast is to rest as much as possible, obviously hard to do for most of us
- When you tell people you haven't eaten for x days, they flip out and call you stupid

Positives:
- I am open to the possibility that this may be placebo and the mental stuff is hard to describe (hence why I did it in the first place), but I feel like I can literally feel my body healing itself
- Less pain and inflammation (I am a chronic pain patient)
- Skin looking tighter (two people commented who didn't know I was fasting), though didn't notice a visual change in scar tissue
- Normal "brain fog" I get in the afternoon is gone
- Broke caffeine and food dependence, that hunger hormone spike you get at every normal meal time is gone
- Normally wake up with mucous in my eyes and a box of tissues close by, but nothing the past 4 days
- My vision seems slightly clearer?? I especially noticed this when playing tennis.
- Daily stomach pain went away, interested to see if that lasts
- Natural high, almost euphoric feeling.
- Completely "reset" taste buds, I crave simple clean foods more than greasy stuff right now
- Last half of fast was in super deep ketosis, body is a pure fat burning machine at this point. Feels good, mang.
- Practically FREE. Just drink water. Nothing to buy.
- Confidence boost, breaking through a big mental barrier. I'm much more optimistic about reaching my goals now. A great base to build on if you're stuck in a rut like I was.

Questions:
- I've had multiple small bowel movements the past few days, wtf is that?
- After day 10, what are the benefits? People say you don't get the full benefit until after day 10, but what exactly happens?
- What's the best way to intermittent fast now? One meal a day? Fast every other day? Fast 1-2 days/week?

Looks younger, but obviously anytime you cut it's going to look younger. Still, I think skin gains are legit.

Yeah I noticed the skin thing after my 2 day fast. Basically practiced IF until the weekend, amazing how overall body aches go away after a couple days.

Do you think you could cope doing exercise? Semi considering doing a juice fast thing that Mitch Aguier preaches about.

First few days, no. Once I broke the wall, I did some light cardio and played tennis. I don't know how productive that is, though. I've read in a few places that you want your body channeling all its energy into healing itself. Don't know how true that is.

Damn, sounds amazing OP. Well done on sticking with it and even surpassing your initial time frame. I know that it can be extra difficult to exceed a limit when you already expect it to be reached.

Can you go into any further detail about the body feeling like it is 'healing itself'?

Also, how were you sleeping before the vast (on average)? What has your sleep been like the past 3-4 days?
