My assumption is that one party wants to fuk other people and considers a breakup, and they mutually decide that it's better to just have an open relationship of sorts and get it out of their system and stick together because of family money or some other reason.

lol guys there's a big difference between a 13 year old boy thinking about sex, fantasizing about girls/women then an actual adult influencing them into intercourse.

It's really simple. She's nearly 30, he is 13, harsh sentence. You think I didn't want to bang my teacher @ 13? I know girls who gave head as early as 12, does that mean it's ok for a 30 year old male teacher to get head because "Hey they are doing it already". The law doesn't and shouldn't work that way.

I was getting boners over my teachers in primary school, I knew about sex but your brain can't comprehend everything that comes with it. I'll say it a 3rd time, she isn't going to serve anything close to 20 years anyway but maybe these idiots teachers might think twice - which we all know they won't.

yes, we should also raise the age to get a driver's license to 16, voting and minimum age for military service age to 18, and legal drinking age to 21, because they are still children.

Why don't we start recognizing 13 year olds as adults ready to contribute to society, and end school at grade 8. A kid can get their own apartment and car at 14, start their career early.

I'm not disagreeing with your point, it's just easy to conflate it with the other more prominent point in this thread that since the boy "probably enjoyed it" that it makes the act of exploiting a child for sex any less unforgivable.

Interesting how there are just sort of guidelines for jail time but no real system for United States criminal justice:

Mike Tyson gets convicted of rape rape, gets sentenced to 6 years in prison, but only serves 3 years.

This ped-ophile gets convicted of stat rape, gets sentenced to 20 years in prison, no parole.

I tend to think rape rape is much worse than stat rape personally. But I don't have a problem with this ped doing 20 years at all.

Well heres the deal guys, we cannot have two sets of laws. One for women so they can commit a crime and get off with a light sentence....and one for men so the court can lock him up for the same crime and throw away the key.

An adult molested a minor, the gender does not matter. Equality. We cannot have special rights for people with vaginas and separate code of law for people with penises. This woman is a convicted ****phile and she got what she deserved.

Gotcha, yea, usually there's 2 sides, and a tendency to put someone in either of the 2 sides and think they hold all views from that side. But you can hold a few views from each side, and not all views from each side and none of the other. I just never bother arguing for obvious points, as they're obvious and there's nothing to be gained in arguing them, so I tend to make propositions that aren't so obvious, and create debate... it's just low hanging fruit to take a PC opinion on things, though of course sometimes the PC opinion is a good one. Like stating "Murdering an innocent is bad", what's the be gained there? You get applause for being virtuous, wow. At least with a proposition that "Killing someone is sometimes morally acceptable", or whatever, allows for a debate.
