Am I the only one noticing that Olsen after catching the ball is slow and easy to take down? Dude can make some great catches and get open but it seems like a corner can take him down easily.

This is why Stewart needs to start. We're basically giving away a down every drive by using Williams today.

Yes, JStew has been a full on beast this year, albeit in limited touches. He needs more.

And I pm'd GApump and JKeith both to see if they could change the thread title for me.

So many holes to fill.

You gotta think we'll be targeting linebacker help with Davis likely getting cut. Then there's the whole DT's being the worst in NFL history thing. #2 corner still hasn't been filled, so that could be a possibility.

The unfortunate thing is the one guy I really want(Quinton Coples) is not a need.

Brandon Hogan starts practice this coming week, so #2 corner could be taken care of by the end of the year if he turns out to be as good as predicted. honestly, Butler needs to be playing ahead of Munnerlyn at this point

So who are the top DTs in the draft gonna be. Obviously that will be our number 1 pick. Second round should be LBer.

If Davis is done do you guys think there is any chance they move Beas back to the outside and let Connor hold down the middle?

lettuce be srs, we knew this team wasnt really going to do much this year. I'm surprised and excited they've played as good as they have and kept games close.

A year for Cam and the other rookies to get better, injured players returning (Beason, Edwards, Gettis, Davis?) and another quality top 5-10 pick will easily make them a playoff team.

Hogan will be #2 eventually.

no DT worth a top 5-10 pick imo.

….at this point I will guess #1 pick would be BPA:

Justin Blackmon = Dez Bryant
Alshon Jeffery = Calvin Johnson
Quinton Coples = Julius Peppers
Matt Kalil = Ryan Kalil, lol

I don't know if we'd do that with Beason.

Connor himself hasn't proven he can get through a full season starting, kinda injury prone himself. Plus, Beason is probably the best 4-3 MLB in the league, I don't like him changing positions.

I'm not sure I want us to draft a LB with our first pick though, unless there is a Von Miller type guy. Even then, a good DT will always trump a good LB.

for LB, i'd like to get Vontaze Burfict but he is a MLB which would mean either he moves or Beason moves

whoaaaa McDermott just said we may be making the switch to the 3-4!!

not sure how to feel about this.. I mean really we're going to need to make a defensive overhaul this offseason so it could definitely happen, but wow.

Let's do it. Then get a quality NT in the first or second round. Quality rush outside LBer. Superbowl contenders.

The thing with the 3-4 is it blows the draft WIDE OPEN. We could go NT, OLB, a 3-4 DE(moving Charles Johnson to 3-4 DE kinda limits capabilities), etc….

Do you think Coples could play 3-4 OLB or DE? I don't watch much CFB.

……
The Carolina Panthers showed a new wrinkle on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, lining up in a 3-4 defense for the first time under coach Ron Rivera.*Granted, it was only for three plays, but it could be a sign of things to come down the road under.** Defensive coordinator Sean McDermott said Monday the Panthers will continue to work on the 3-4 scheme in practice and it will remain in the game plan. However, he said its unlikely it would become the teams base defense this year.*Next year, however, could be a different story.

I think just drafting the best player available rather than whats needed is the best way to go early in the draft(with obvious exceptions). Fill in the Holes with later picks/trades. Sure the panthers need a DT but a DT is not worth a top 10 pick unless its suh.
