Do you think Coples could play 3-4 OLB or DE? I don't watch much CFB.
He could play DE. Too slow for outside linebacker imo.

Welcome to the Carolina Panthers, Matt Kalil!

Sigh, so much ****ing talent wasted with Otah. Not sure if there was a better run blocker than Otah in the league. Oh well, time to cut our losses and move on. I'd keep him on the team for depth since he's still got a year left on his rookie deal, but we can't go into next year with him as our starting RT. Same goes for Davis, like him but he's as done as Otah.

Totally agree. Sucks to have so many needs for drafting.

If we do make the switch to 3-4 and Matt Kalil isn't available(with Otah done, I'm sure he trumps any and all defensive needs because he's not only the BPA but also fills a giant need), think we could move Greg Hardy to 3-4 OLB and draft Coples? Johnson IS a bit small to play 3-4 DE but he is a fantastic run stopper. If we make this move, we HAVE to get a massive DT though. Whether that's through free agency or the draft, we have to.

Feels good man to have our first and second pick for the first time in years lulz.

Redskins actually have a pretty nasty defense. Their D is what I'm worried about the most. I think we can stop their offense though.

Using a high first round pick for a 3-4 DE would be a bad decision. They're just there to take up blockers.

Does feel good to have our early round picks though

Then trade down is probably going to be the best route. No need to reach on a DT when there isn't anyone worth the top 10 pick.

If they want to switch to a 3-4 that's the route I'd go. Unless there's someone they feel they have to have.

The entire offense has been revamped this year and it seems like the defense might be getting it too, albeit next year. This is the most excitement I've ever had over a team with a horrible record in any sport, ever. It's been a fun season thus far.

And about the change to the thread title, I PMd GApump and JKeith both on Sunday (I think) about it and neither has acknowledged my existence (I knew I should have ended it with 'Please respond') so it looks like it's going to stick unless you bros want to PM them as well.

And Jax, congrats man, that's awesome. Hook your misc brahs up!

What's wrong with the thread title?

I'm feeling OL in the first round, DT in the second round. LBer/Corner in 3rd.

Hogan ready to go.

14 minutes ago - by Steve Reed - CB Hogan says he's ready to play
CB Brandon Hogan, who practiced for the first time Wednesday, said he feels ready to play. "I’ve just been listening to the doctors and what they’ve been telling me to do," said Hogan, who has been on PUP. "I think (the coaches) were anxious to get me out there and I was anxious to get out there."

Next to Cam, he's the rookie I was most excited about. inb4 he's the #2 CB in 2 weeks.

By all accounts he was a late first/2nd round talent that fell due to injuries/character concerns. Honestly anyone is an upgrade at this point.

Cam just had his best game as a pro. Fuking unbelievable throws left and right, unbelievable runs, just insane. Penalties are still killing this team, but man… this is the offensive potential I knew they had. Perfect balance between the pass and run, defense made plays when it had to.

I'm not sure it's crazy to say Smitty is a top 5 receiver again.

The love fest has been going on for a while brah, you're late for the party.

Have you watched him play? Not too bad for a rookie without much of a training camp. I'm not sure why you'd come in here with that weaksauce you're spewing.

I'm impressed as fuk by our secondary this season brahs. I thought it would be a serious weakness but aside from the occasional boneheaded penalty they've been great. You almost never hear about Darius Butler, and when you aren't hearing about a defensive back it's a good thing. Surprised he's come in and done so well given he was cut by the Patriots. Gamble has also been outstanding.

I can't ****ing wait for next season, when we have Beason, Edwards, and a top 10 draft pick on the defense.

Gamble left me terrified in the preseason but he's been vintage thus far. I'm with you on that, the secondary is playing well. Having the linebackers back and even next year the two rookie tackles should be even better they should be much improved. This year is about growth and we're making plenty of it.

maybe get some dudes back that were injured or make an offseason move for a big DT to lock down the middle. Either way this team is getting insane potential, only thing sucks is that smitty gets older every year

Since you quoted Cor I'm trying to figure out if you're being sarcastic and implying he's a bandwagoner or not… but unless you can bandwagon a 1-15 team last year then he's def. not that.

If not, welcome to the club. The Cammy Cam's Swagtastic Posse, to be exact. Still jaded that a mod never returned my call on that one…

Deangelo said that Thomas Davis would be back as a Panther next year. Not sure how I feel about that though. He's a great linebacker, but at the same time, how many season ending injuries can you give someone before you finally move on?

hope Mare's contract doesn't have too much guaranteed money. signing him in the first place was a huge ****ing mistake. I'd have rather kept Kasay and Lloyd than given a ****ty unclutch 39 yr old who can't make chip shots FOUR YEARS/$12 MILLION!

anyways, same story different week. Cam continues to dominate, defense continues to suck. Lol @ anyone who thinks we're not drafting defense this year. I don't care if they cloned Jerry Rice and he was available at our pick. DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE.

And a kicker.

Yeah of all the losses this year this one was the toughest to take. The moral victory feelings are about dried up, we need to start putting some of these guys away.

It's like Trapstar said in the game thread though, we're setting up for a really high draft pick even though we're a better team than our indiciates. Getting a better pick than we deserve isn't a bad thing, but I'd like to see some more Ws go up instead of Ls.
