I did my best to make sure they were a legit company, the reviews are awful but thats expected for a remote sales position, you're welcome to look up yourself, the company name is Globe Life.
People.say.they are given a list of leads from 5 years ago told to cold call all of them and make 4500 in sales before they are given new leads and also told to provide 50 names of people they know and those just get dumped into the company lead list with everyone spam.calling them

It's just an MLM scam

There is nobody making 10k a month it's all cap

For every 100 people they hire only a couple actually make it more than a year. And everyone else who quits the company grabs their clients. I remember what you said.

I worked for a number of companies remotely and they always paid out, not everything is a scam, are you sure you're not schizophrenic like everybody else on here seems to be?

i do cold emailing from time to time.

for the phone for sure you need to be resilient and not take things to heart

JV takes a lot of sh*t here and is still upbeat.

his though needs to pass the exams and not get bored of the job after 2 weeks. not sure if he has the tenacity to stick at it

Yeah boyo, I'm not particualrly positive about passing the exams... like 75% sure I wont, but I have to take risks.

I've done it and it sucks, the people who prove themselves move onto better leads with other remote positions I had, they identified me as someone who could give "white glove" treatment to customers.

Yeah boyo my main concern was my potential longevity with the company, but making money like that would be a big motivator, and I would be a private contractor meaning I make my own schedule.

I'm sure the person who hired me (regional manager) is making a killing off commission for new hires paying for the training course and exams, initially I wondered why TF would the regional manager be calling me to interview me? and then it all makes sense, she gets a fat commission for new hires who payout for training, this just makes me want to work for the company even more knowing they take care of the veteran employees.

I wish I had taken on a cold sales role when I was younger. if you can make it doing cold sales you can make it anywhere. I think it builds a ton of resilience, a lot of life is selling yourself.

That said, you're being scammed buddy.

They're all calling themselves regional manager when they call to collect the application fee

They pretty much want you to quit in frustration and forget about the 800 dollars you wasted

a guy i grew up with isn't very smart in the traditional sense, but was always popular and sociable, like a jock - played sports, has charisma and was handsome (no homo) when younger (now he's a bloatlord at 265 lbs).

but, in his early 20s (170 leancell) he got into recruitment, and showed me paychecks of 5k after tax at age 24 or so (great money back then). started off as a recruitment consultant, then branch manager. and director. got bonus on company profits too. so 6 figure earner for over a decade (and married a sloot in the industry too)

they have 4 houses in my city, rents out 3. no real qualifications. the industry he specialized in was construction, and well, everywhere has never stopped growing

was made redundant though during covid as lots of companies were resizing. drank a lot, didnt work or 6+ months, just played golf. and hasnt managed to keep a top tier position, now is a head of department. i doubt anywhere wants to hire a super bloatcell these days, doesnt look good for a top position

probably hit his ego that he isn't invincible anymore. doubt the money is an issue as they did a CSB and still did a ton of family holidays around the world.

he said it was brutal AF losing high commissions if someone pulled out of a job. super high highs, and low AF lows. also did pepsi, and drank a lot before getting married and having kids

I'd kill myself before ever doing cold calling again. Could be okay decades ago, if business to business, where you hopefully have something good to offer (and believe in it yourself). Just assuming each contact gets a hundred calls a day at this point, so you're just another nuisance.

Even then, the tiny portion of loyal customers you got – it was mostly cause they liked your personality and speaking to you as a ”friend” for half an hour at the time. Doing that with other educated/older ppl requires a lot more than you'd expect.

Just my old ass perspective. I'd take the extra money/what's left over each month and just invest it.

I could be way off in your case and hope you make it.

Shes likely taking home like 50%, makes sense why regional manager would be recruiting new hires, 20 new hires a week could be 10k shes getting as a bonus for new hires buying the course material and exams likely multiple times, its good to know they're probably taking care of their higher ups, I dont want to work somewhere like mcdonalds where the dream is get promoted to shift manager in 5 years and get a 50 cent raise.

Hey brah, at the end of the day, trust your instincts. Everyone else is speaking from the outside, but you’re the one actually in it. Stay sharp, ask the right questions, and don’t ignore red flags (there aren't ANY unless you consider a fat annual salary a red flag) but don’t let fear shut down the opportunity of this once in a lifetime chance either.

You’ve got a good head on your shoulders. If something feels right and checks out, go for it. Just move smart, not scared. Either way, you’re learning and leveling up from the experience. I know this will be a valuable learning experience for you.

Thanks boyo.

I just called the regional manager, the one who hired me, and left a message saying I was thinking of throwing in the towel on the whole thing because of how difficult the practice exam has proven to be, hopefully she calls back with words of encouragement and maybe some advice or insight to help me.

This^^

I was in the insurance industry for over 20 yrs. I can tell you right now...even the top sales agents aren't making anywhere that kind of $$ selling life insurance. It's one of the most difficult types of insurance policies to sell srs...

Are there any other materials/guides on preparing for the practice exams that they offer that you could purchase? That could be beneficial. It would allow you to be confident in doing the practice exams.

Remember my dad trying it at evenings/nights when I was a teen. Made 2k extra per month at best and he really could charm old ladies. Different times and location, but still. Over here you could check ppls income, so he specifically targeted older ladies with means - sneaky bastard. He did the same for dating, lol.

69% to 78% pass on first-time attempt, depending on module. It can't be that hard. You just gotta keep your head up, focus, put the time in, and learn the material.

I already seen the metrics for their top performers, the best ones make over 100k their first month, I used to do sales (though the sales aspect was very meager) and in 3 months become top performer for the company, I ended up dropping because I wanted some time off and my team lead wouldn't work with me, I am confident as long as their is no hidden potholes this is going to be the thing that makes me make it in life, providing I can pass the brutal exams.

Just the course material they give in training, the exams they monitor you through the webcam and monitor your screen to ensure you're not using anything besides the training material.

It is brutal, they make the questions to try to trick you, I fall for almost every trick in the questions, unfortunately they pull the questions from a very large pool to prevent one from learning the answers.
