I wish I had taken on a cold sales role when I was younger. if you can make it doing cold sales you can make it anywhere. I think it builds a ton of resilience, a lot of life is selling yourself.

was made redundant though during covid as lots of companies were resizing. drank a lot, didnt work or 6+ months, just played golf. and hasnt managed to keep a top tier position, now is a head of department. i doubt anywhere wants to hire a super bloatcell these days, doesnt look good for a top position
probably hit his ego that he isn't invincible anymore. doubt the money is an issue as they did a CSB and still did a ton of family holidays around the world.
he said it was brutal AF losing high commissions if someone pulled out of a job. super high highs, and low AF lows. also did pepsi, and drank a lot before getting married and having kids

I'd kill myself before ever doing cold calling again. Could be okay decades ago, if business to business, where you hopefully have something good to offer (and believe in it yourself). Just assuming each contact gets a hundred calls a day at this point, so you're just another nuisance.
Even then, the tiny portion of loyal customers you got – it was mostly cause they liked your personality and speaking to you as a ”friend” for half an hour at the time. Doing that with other educated/older ppl requires a lot more than you'd expect.
Just my old ass perspective. I'd take the extra money/what's left over each month and just invest it.
I could be way off in your case and hope you make it.

I already seen the metrics for their top performers, the best ones make over 100k their first month, I used to do sales (though the sales aspect was very meager) and in 3 months become top performer for the company, I ended up dropping because I wanted some time off and my team lead wouldn't work with me, I am confident as long as their is no hidden potholes this is going to be the thing that makes me make it in life, providing I can pass the brutal exams.

Are there any other materials/guides on preparing for the practice exams that they offer that you could purchase? That could be beneficial. It would allow you to be confident in doing the practice exams.

Remember my dad trying it at evenings/nights when I was a teen. Made 2k extra per month at best and he really could charm old ladies. Different times and location, but still. It is brutal, they make the questions to try to trick you, I fall for almost every trick in the questions, unfortunately they pull the questions from a very large pool to prevent one from learning the answers.
69% to 78% pass on first-time attempt, depending on module. It can't be that hard. You just gotta keep your head up, focus, put the time in, and learn the material.
