if australia has a system anything like canada, the foreign worker scam becomes a industry. they will take over businesses like farms, orchards, distribution centers etc and they pretend they cant find local workers so they can hire their own, but not out of the goodness of their hearts/love for their own. canada will give out what they call a LMIA document which a company can use to speed hire a foreign worker, they will sell them though, as tickets to getting their foot in the door to canada, so they one company may "hire" 15 ppl from india to pick apples in a orchard, but each of these foreigners paid anywhere between 20k-40k to get the job with the LMIA document, some of them manage permanent residency status some dont and just stay illegally once the gig is up. The scammers take over legit businesses and the actual business becomes secondary to the foreigner worker scam industry. they can make a couple million easy and fast.

so not only do these foreign scammers steal local jobs from people who grew up here, they also scam their own people under the table.
