Was never really good at pullups but would try to throw some sets in at the end of a back day. Was more into barbells and rowing...

Nah, not mogging anyone. Task is taller and looks to be using more of a kipping style...which is my mind is still a pullup just a different technique style. I'm only 5'4" so always kept my legs straight...taller guys tend to bend their knees a bit.

Like I said, never did them all the time. I would do lat pulldown, supine rows or weighted rack chins for lats...

Mirin full ROM. I can’t do pull ups bc it hurts my torn rotator cuff but I do dead hang chins. Usually 4x10, never really gone for broke on how many total.

Not hating on OP, but if he’s doing a dead hang he gets 4 maybe 5

Chins make more sense when you have rotator cuff issues.

Here's my attempt at an assisted one arm chin up. Did them once and never again...they're too effin hard lol...

I actually always wonder what kind of form people use when they claim 10+ pull ups. With strict form (legs full extended the whole time and no swinging), pull ups are challenging.

Only manlets can straighten their legs on standard height bars. The correct way is to bend your knees and have your feet behind you. Your body should not move at all except for your arms bending during the pull up. Your lower body will swing if you're too weak to do a real pull up. You should do the entire motion in a slow controlled manner and pull until the bar hits your chest

If you're just learning and not strong enough to do them properly you can try going faster to use momentum, or swinging your legs a bit to get up, but it's certainly nothing to brag about and should only be used as a pŕogression to real pull ups

This. And if you aren't going from a dead hang to chin above bar you haven't done a rep.

Don't need to be a manlet to hang with your legs straight while holding onto a pull up bar. Plenty of guys 6'2+ can do it.

When I started lifting I saw some huge guy doing pull ups with his legs mostly straight but crossed at the ankles. Looked epic at the time. Bro science logic was: he's huge and he's doing pull ups that way, so it must the right way to do it. Pretty much been doing it that way since. It's strict enough because it makes the lower body dead weight during the movement.

Crossing legs isn't really good or bad. Kipping, swinging, and incomplete range of motion are the ways to cheat

One way I found that really helps in just a few weeks is doing some super slow pull ups, especially during the entire concentric phase since it's much easier to do slow negatives. After a few weeks of slow finger tip pull ups on a ledge, it felt like I was in zero gravity when I did regular ones on a bar
