I went out last night to hang out with a girl who brought a male friend. I even paid for his drink - thoughts?

We met up again to go clubbing and she told me she's bringing a male classmate. I showed up alone.
I could tell they're completely platonic and he looked gay to me at first, but later found out he does like women.
Anyway, I barely go out so I don't mind covering the girl's drinks, but when we first met in the bar area of the nightclub, I bought the girl a drink and decided to include her friend as well. Ended up spending $36 for them. I felt it was kind of awkward if I only bought the girl a drink and gave the guy a cold shoulder from the start. Thoughts?
We then went to another club and I got myself a beer + drink for the girl. Bartender made a wrong drink so let me keep that one and made another. I walked back to the girl to give her 2 drinks. It was $32 for a beer and a rum and coke? Felt completely ripped off and bartender seems to have overcharged me on purpose but I paid only because I got that 1 extra drink. I'm going to ask for specific prices before I even buy from now on.
Because her guy friend was there, nothing could really be done. I couldn't invite the girl back to my place or anything.
So for the night, my spending was:
$20 for 2 beers for myself
$36 for drinks for that girl and her male friend
$32 for a beer for myself and drink for girl
$15 cover charge at one place we walked to (we all paid this)
Back to back, my spending exceeded $100/night. Going out is expensive these days.
Now I go to my weekend job and try to make some of this money back.
