Rate diabetic lunch /10

I don’t have many options for food nowadays so I frequent Opa till I get my kitchen Reno’s complete. Plan on making some really good soups as soon as I get things in order .

Anyways I typically do a chicken and a lamb ,but seen they have shrimp . I should have only are half the salad and saved the rest for supper when I have my shake , but I wasn’t going straight home afterwards as I drive to the park to do my usual walk , so I just ate as much as I could.
I love the wrap , but I’m trying to avoid bread /wheat etc . For supper I’ll be having a protein drink

Srs I love Greek salad . I also like Caesar salad but it’s not as healthy with the croutons.
I actually enjoyed trying the shrimp for a change . Just wish they had tartare sauce

Looks like a normal meal for me, I've been fighting prediabetes for 13 years. Still winning, 70% of prediabetics become dibetics in 10 years.

Expected the complete opposite seeing the title
2:136
Say, ˹O believers,˺ We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us; and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants; what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. And to Allah we all submit.

You don't need to cut certain foods completely out. You can still have some carbs, sugar, etc...in smaller portions...it's a matter of balancing them out with fiber, protein, healthy fats.

Also, sugar free food is crap and the best Endocrinologists will tell you to stay away from it srs...

This. Carbs are essential. Wait until you start experiencing low blood sugar or get put on insulin (hopefully not). Its more about timing than anything. You cant eat the carbs whenever or however much you want anymore unfortunately but there are typically windows throughout the day (or night as I tend to get most of my lows then too) where its beneficial to have something sweet like after workouts or when the blood sugar is dropping fast

Kim I have a half pint of sugar free yogurt in a shop that specializes in it . They use stevia and I’m not seeing a sugar spike whatsoever. They also claim their other flavours are made with sugar that is low in the glycemic index, like 0-20 , but I tried it and spiked for 90 minutes.
It tasted a lot better but I’m assuming if it spikes my blood sugar too high than it’s probably not a good idea to consume it .

Also tried Chapmans no sugar added vanilla ice cream and could tell almost immediately that I was far too high . Did a test and I went up 5 points into the 10 mmol/L scale .
I don’t think that’s terrible, but again I’m assuming it’s not a good option for a treat once in a while .
Even most fruit is fking with me . Blue berries are definitely out . The only two fruits I’ve found to be fairly safe are raspberries and strawberries, although I do see a spike when I put strawberries in my protein shake

This kinda sucks as about 3-4 times a year I used to go to Smitty’s and order their pancakes and douse them in syrup . Faurk

I know most people are probably against this, but have you ever considered getting prescribed Tirzepatide?

It will drastically improve your insulin sensitivity and blood sugar levels and help you drop weight fast. It will also kill all cravings. I'm completely against it for most people, as they do it to be lazy, not eat healthy, and not work out. However, if I were in your situation, I would 100% get on the shit and drop 50 pounds as fast as possible. It will drastically speed up your whole process, so you can then stop it and maintain your health afterward. IMO, that's the real method it should be used, not for fat fucks to just drop weight and never create long-term health habits. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

This is all so new to you and trust me you'll find the right balance, timing and you'll figure it out. You can still enjoy all of the normal stuff but you scale back. You're doing great but don't feel like this is it...because it's not srs.

Do you really think he needs that? He's dropping weight and things are moving along for him. I hate the idea of everything happening fast...maybe if he had a plateau and got stuck but I don't think he needs it.

Just my opinion. :)

I don't recommend it specifically for weight loss, but to fast-track his progress towards lowering his blood sugar and increasing his insulin sensitivity. It has profound effects in those areas alone, including improvements in cardiovascular health.

It has a bad stigma because most people who are taking these are fat, lazy, and don't work out. They would rather just inject themselves than change their habits. I think the OP, with blood sugar levels in the 400s, is a good candidate to try it short term. (Super Ded fkn Srs)
