Thought I may as well ask another question as as I see you are still replying in this thread.
Did you apply to multiple departments at once? Because I know if you apply to one and don't get in that time for whatever reason you can't apply again for 2 years or so.

For example I posted a pic of me and my girlfriend that wasn't even on ******** (the only social media I have) and got an email from corporate 2 days later about some guy complaining to them about me being anti-LGBT and homophobic.
Maybe I was unlucky but I stay precautious now, just trying to help a brother out.

I have not noticed any of the police hate being a problem in my career yet. I mean of course people hate us and pull the race card and say we shoot innocent people etc... but that has never bothered me.
What does bother me is I did not become a cop to have 90% of my job performance to be based off how many people I pull over and how many drugs I find in peoples cars. I took the job to serve the public, help people who need help, aid in investigations, patrol to deter crime, and if something seems fishy or a car is breaking a law I will pull it over. I have noticed most departments pride on officers who go out and spend hours looking for license plate lights that are out, people that dont turn their signal on prior to XX feet and give them pats on the back for their "statistics" since the word quota isnt allowed anymore.
The administration is the worst to work for. You are working for cops acting like cops to you at work. They have almost no real managerial experience and the liability they have on them makes them only concerned for their own ass and half of them just want to get a new title and more power so they will throw you under the buss and write you up/fire you for anything.
Then theres the hours. Obviously you work in a good place with good pay but most departments officers are making bottom tier middle class pay to top tier lower class pay. To subsidize they work 2nd jobs, pull security jobs 20+ hours a week, contract work, or do overtime at their department
Lastly if you ever want to work somewhere else everything you have ever done at work is getting sent to the new department, they are going to contact everyone in your life and question everything about you like you are the scum of the earth even though you have been a cop already for 5+ years, and if you forget one thing, leave out one thing even an ex girlfriend or a place you lived, or if you got written up at work once over something stupid, they will blacklist you and it will be known to every place you apply for in the future because every police application asks you to list where you applied for before and the recruitment team/officer calls them to ask for information.
It is one of the most unhealthy work enviroments out there and structured to put stress and hardship on the officers.

I'm in the same boat as you OP... Been a cop for 3.5 years and my last day is in July. Too much politics and BS with my department at the supervisory level (i.e. Let this drunk guy drive home because you stopped him 1 block outside of your patrol zone, but still in your jurisdiction), coupled with the rapidly declining environment and support for police, no thanks Jeff.

been out of le about 6 years now.
yeah many cops are great but it's always those jerk few cops who make the job horrible. Big shocker, usually the ones with brass.
PD's act like military but arne't military. Half or more have never been in the military. You can't have it both. Plus unlike the militar, people can get fired.
The ones with tenure love to mess around with the rookies. Plus everyone wants to protect their pension and job security and blame others. While city only cares abourt not being sued, not the officers.
unf supply & demand ruins the cop profession. There are literally 10,000 others out there who want and could do your job. you're 'replacable' (well i wasn't cuz i had a degree and it skills but anywho). Cops are simply tools of the govt. Easily replaced and usually are, at least in the beginning.
It's tough until you get tenure move up, then it''s goat. I have more $ and fun with enterprise it consulting now. Office job, can't brag, but love the money and lotsa jobs in case you need to quit. No stupid 3 months of bg checks and other b.s.
but if you get a great pd, great chief and get a few years in so you're set - it can be great. No constant graveyard shifts and be told what to do all the time

yeah many cops are great but it's always those jerk few cops who make the job horrible.
