Not quite sure how to play this one, I am unaware of her current relationship status but from what I could see on ******** the guy she was with after me seems to be out the picture.

Now I know what you will say but there is so much history between us (9 years) and maybe she is trying to relight an old candle? Should I entertain the idea or politely turn her down? To be honest part of me has wanted to catch up with her for a long time

I say do it op. By which I mean, meet her, catch up and see how you respond to it. Not meet the kids though, it does sound a bit like she'd want you to be 'replacement dad', so be a bit careful there. But DO meet her and catch up. You seem to have managed well with a mature attitude and cool head towards the divorce, so there's no need to be overly protective of yourself and go 'full hardcore no contact' (that's more for guys that are very vulnerable emotionally, you don't seem like that at all).
