The mammals I listed clearly function at a higher level. Sheep have even been shown to have facial recognition capabilities. Many of them have familial bonds.
There is a hierarchy of intelligence that should be taken into consideration in this argument, and you're right to bring it up. But the animals with lower intelligence still feel pain, and the way in which they are killed almost never tries to reduce that to the minimum, or best of all to eliminate it entirely. That is still a huge part of the argument.

How's your vagina?
How dare you!

Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.

Yes, they feel pain, but they (chickens/turkeys/fish) don't have the awareness to realize what is happening. The pain is literally a second or two.Sheep, pigs, goats, cows on the other hand are higher functioning and have the cognitive awareness to know stressful situations, namely when they are removed from their herds/parents, etc.

Anyway, having spent time working on a hobby farm, I am okay with the logical of slaughtering chickens, turkeys, fish. They don't seem to be aware of much around them and don't live terribly long anyhow. Pigs, cows, sheep, goats, on the other hand, are too much for me. Nobody has to agree with me, but I just can't bring myself to imagine any of those being slaughtered. I certainly couldn't do it. So I don't eat them.

Would love to be vegan but haven't got the discipline, like the taste of meat I've cut out all red meat in the past and could do it again but not chicken or fish, and here's a question OP: how will I get my 150g of protein on the daily? You want me to eat sprouts all day?

That's very fair actually.

In the end, the thought of killing a chicken or fish doesn't bother me much, so I continue eating them. I hope they are treated well for the entirety of their lives and are slaughtered in the most humane fashion possible, of course. There is no reason not to treat all animals with respect (aside from mosquitoes and black flies). I realize there is some evidence of animal cruelty at large chicken/fish farms, but are there not laws to prohibit this? (srs)? Any proof or source to say that cruelty at these places is the norm?

And, to be fair to me, I buy a good portion of my turkey/chicken/fish locally. Literally from the free range store next to the farm. It isn't all farmers who are unethical.

Every plant based food has protein greens, legumes, grains, soy beans, wheat, seeds if you eat enough calories you'll get enough protein

Edit: Don't take out everything all at once do it little by little

Do you have a processing disorder or something? If you do, just let me know and I will be sensitive to it.

I asked you about your bread and pasta, not your bananas. I thought its wrong for humans to eat cooked foods? You think meat eaters don't eat their fruits and vegetables raw also? Does that mean its okay to eat cooked meat because they eat raw fruit?

you're making generalizations about vegans again. Like I said you don't know any vegans irl and if you do I highly doubt a vegan irl said to you he wants to kill you because you eat meat or hunt.

You're obviously basing everything you know about vegans from Vegan gains videos because he is the only one who would say stuff like that.

I know several hunters and I can easily say that the respect that hunters show towards animals and nature is so far beyond that of the average person that it's amazing. The perception of hunting is so skewed and misunderstood.
When a vegan tries to equate the hunting, killing and usage of an animal for food with homicide then they're dismissed.

The problem is that animal cruelty is the default, not the exception. Buying locally most likely decreases the odds of cruelty, but it by no means eliminates it. Unless you have firsthand knowledge of the conditions the animals lived in, it's just guesswork.

I have done it for a few years, thanks for telling me something i already know.

But I am asking how is it accurate that if something needs to be cooked you are not supposed to eat it? You realize your pasta and bread is cooked right? Just like meat.

Well, I drive by the farm and see the free-range chickens often, so I'm guessing unless they are punished behind closed doors at night like a red-headed step child (just for fun), then I am assuming that they live relatively nice lives. They are chickens. You know there are humans who live in abject poverty with little to eat and no parents (or responsible parents)? And I mean in North America. I wouldn't worry too much about those chickens I'm talking about.

We aren't mean to eat meat because of the length of our intestines we have much longer intestines than carnivores do, glucose is our main source of fuel every muscle in your body runs on glucose

That's an indicator of their treatment. That's not quite firsthand knowledge of the way they are butchered, but there's no doubt they're treated better than they would be in a factory farm. The second part of your post is completely irrelevant though, if we start keeping orphans in factory farms and butchering them for our food, let me know.

And your body can digest the fats and amino acids of meat into G6P and G3P. You don't need to eat it in the source of glucose.

We have much shorter intestines than herbivores though. Because we are omnivores.

Get over this "zomg we aren't meant to eat meat" nonsense. Of all the things humans do in 2016 you're hung up on eating meat lmao.

Focus on the cruelty involved in the industrial farming industry, that's much more relevant and likely to elicit a response/change in people then trying to tell them how BIZARRE eating meat is.

Most vegans dgaf about hunting and hunters. Hunting and hobby fishing is so small scale compared to the 100 billion of animals that are killed in animal agriculture / overfishing for human consumption that also happens to be an incredibly destructive practice for the environment and other human beings since it causes starvation for less fortunate communities in 3rd world countries. Do you realize how much resources it takes to raise meat? lol

If anything omnivores are more anti-human than vegans because their diets actually hurt other human beings.

Wrong. Humans are herbivorous to the core. We have long intestines that aren't designed to digest meat quickly like cats. It's a problem because you end up soaking in all the free radicals, extra cholesterol, toxins , and carcinogens from the meat rotting in your intestines. You really have no idea what you're talking about do you?

What exactly am I wrong about? I didn't say we were MEANT to eat meat. I just said it's such a stupid thing to focus on if you're a vegan who actually wants somebody to listen to you.
Nobody cares that we do something that our body wasn't designed for because we do 100 other things that our bodies weren't designed to do.

Did you know we weren't MEANT to fly either? Or travel into space? But it's accepted that we've found ways to do this. And you think you're going to shock people by telling them eating meat is not MEANT to be done? lmao. fkn vegans i swear m8.

Like I said already, stick to talking about how awful and cruel factory farming is. Because that's something that will make people pause if anything will. You vegans needs to up your PR game.
