You seriously think fish and chicken have any higher order thinking capabilities? Emotions? Been watching too many Pixar movies.
The mammals I listed clearly function at a higher level. Sheep have even been shown to have facial recognition capabilities. Many of them have familial bonds.

How's your vagina?
How dare you!
Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.

Yes, they feel pain, but they (chickens/turkeys/fish) don't have the awareness to realize what is happening. The pain is literally a second or two.Sheep, pigs, goats, cows on the other hand are higher functioning and have the cognitive awareness to know stressful situations, namely when they are removed from their herds/parents, etc.
Anyway, having spent time working on a hobby farm, I am okay with the logical of slaughtering chickens, turkeys, fish. They don't seem to be aware of much around them and don't live terribly long anyhow. Pigs, cows, sheep, goats, on the other hand, are too much for me. Nobody has to agree with me, but I just can't bring myself to imagine any of those being slaughtered. I certainly couldn't do it. So I don't eat them.

You said you eat lots of bread and pasta. Those are cooked. Why don't you eat raw dough and raw pasta?

Would love to be vegan but haven't got the discipline, like the taste of meat I've cut out all red meat in the past and could do it again but not chicken or fish, and here's a question OP: how will I get my 150g of protein on the daily? You want me to eat sprouts all day?

See you're trying to argue something I'm not arguing. I never said I was ok with industrial farming. I'm not ok with it. But I"m an adult and just because I'm not ok with A doesn't mean I have to go full blown retard and start acting as though somebody who kills and eats a deer deserves to be killed and eaten them self.

In the end, the thought of killing a chicken or fish doesn't bother me much, so I continue eating them. I hope they are treated well for the entirety of their lives and are slaughtered in the most humane fashion possible, of course. There is no reason not to treat all animals with respect (aside from mosquitoes and black flies). I realize there is some evidence of animal cruelty at large chicken/fish farms, but are there not laws to prohibit this? (srs)? Any proof or source to say that cruelty at these places is the norm?
And, to be fair to me, I buy a good portion of my turkey/chicken/fish locally. Literally from the free range store next to the farm. It isn't all farmers who are unethical.

You're obviously basing everything you know about vegans from Vegan gains videos because he is the only one who would say stuff like that.

When a vegan tries to equate the hunting, killing and usage of an animal for food with homicide then they're dismissed.

We have much shorter intestines than herbivores though. Because we are omnivores.

Get over this "zomg we aren't meant to eat meat" nonsense. Of all the things humans do in 2016 you're hung up on eating meat lmao.
Focus on the cruelty involved in the industrial farming industry, that's much more relevant and likely to elicit a response/change in people then trying to tell them how BIZARRE eating meat is.

If anything omnivores are more anti-human than vegans because their diets actually hurt other human beings.

Did you know we weren't MEANT to fly either? Or travel into space? But it's accepted that we've found ways to do this. And you think you're going to shock people by telling them eating meat is not MEANT to be done? lmao. fkn vegans i swear m8.
Like I said already, stick to talking about how awful and cruel factory farming is. Because that's something that will make people pause if anything will. You vegans needs to up your PR game.
