Let's be honest... if you don't think a 3 year old being dragged around by a panicked (your own words) 400lb gorilla is in immediate danger, you are such an idiot its actually hard to fatom.

I really don't know how I feel about this. I'm not a big fan of zoos to begin with. People let their kids run wild and the result is a dead 17 year old 400 LB Gorilla.

I guess it's a good thing no one has to answer to the gorillas friends or family and explain to them why he was killed.

What a sad world we live in.

so is the zoo gonna sue the parents for the cost and effort of getting a new gorilla or nah?
unless the zoos security (ie simple fences) werent up to code then its fully on the family of the kid for not keeping their kid under at least moderate watch and preventing it from climbing fences...
cause lets be real tea here... four year olds dont exactly have a lot of parkour skills and dont climb fences all that quick.

You all want to be outraged over something be outraged he's been captured and put on display to begin with. Don't come out of the woodwork just cause he was shot. Shooting him when he's got a small child within reach is about the only thing that makes sense here. Not caging him so people can look at him.
yes, but we spawned from monkies. say that was two humans.. we going to shoot the bigger darker one every time?

You understand a tranquilizer isn't instant... right? It takes time to take effect and in that time the gorilla could have lashed out, became extremely aggressive etc. as it had just been shot and would be in a state of panic as well as side effects of certain tranqs are known to do that.

it's not like you're IVing H into it.

Shooting it dead was the only way.

Don't know why you're still arguing with defunct morons. If half of these evolutionary failures had there way they would of let the child die as if they are some hero for doing so.

"ohh... sorry ma'am but we value this gorilla over your childs life, you'll receive the left over carcass of your son in a garbage bag after closing, thanks for being understanding"

It actually f*cking disgusts me that people would let a fellow human being die like that, let alone a small child.

Well, hindsight is 20/20 but I think it could've been prevented had she actually took the kids "I'm gonna go into the water with the gorillas" seriously. Sad day for harambe but, it had to be done. However if we can't enclose them properly and people can be killed in 2 seconds by them if they were so inclined then perhaps we shouldn't have them there in the 1st place.

An eyewitness said she tried to catch him and yelled at him to stop but he kept going and was ignoring everyone's screams to come back. She also said the kid kept saying he was going in to his Mom because he wanted to get in the water.
He didn't fall. He climbed into the enclosure. He straight up told his mother that he was going to go in there, and she ignored him. the gorilla encounter itself has a steel grate barrier, a rail fence, a series of bushes, and a 12-foot moat in-between the silverbacks and their visitors. The zoo can't idiot proof every exhibit just because of one dumbass.

This is my city, and my zoo. The woman who is responsible for this demon spawn runs a daycare, and was there with the kids that day.

That fence is literally poverty as fuk. Like can you even call that a fence? Looks like a minor inconvenience if anything. The parents probably took their eyes away for about 5-10 seconds and that's probably when lil dude decided to hop this bitch and go visit Magilla Gorilla.

He started dragging the boy after the keepers supposedly used a special call that drew the two females out of the exhibit, (so they could shoot it in isolation) and everyone else was screaming, which made the gorilla agitated. They worsened the situation. If there was any immediate danger, they created it. The majority of the video is of the kid sitting upright, even after being dragged, with no signs of aggression/threat.

anybody given any thought to the poor bastard that had to shoot the gorilla and the gorilla's handlers/keepers. I'm sure over the years they've developed a very strong bond with it.

I think you're forgetting the fact that a 3 year old with a concussion got DRAGGED BY A FUKKIN GORILLA. We not gonna gloss over the fact that a fragile ass child is with a 400lb animal that doesn't abide to the human laws of society. That gorilla could have snapped at any moment due to MULTIPLE circumstances.

Now they probably didn't have a lot of options, but let's be honest, they shot him because they knew might be held liable, not because the kid was in actual danger.

I hope the parents are forced to pay some sort of fine, or the fee for replacing the gorilla.
