I don't like Floyd as a person and I hate what he has done to modern boxing but he is the greatest boxer of all time no question.

I can't wait for Beterbiev to become mandatory for kovalev, that would be a crazy fight.
Apparently Beterbiev knocked Jean Pascal out in sparing.

Edit: Look desperately for that fight between Kovalev and Beterbiev in the amateurs can't seem to find that video
Beterbiev is a monster in the same vein that Cloud was supposed to be a monster before he ran into Campillo. We really don't know what Beterbiev is capable of until he steps up his competition.

What's your take on Adonis vs Kovalev?
Who wins?
Stevenson is a one-handed fighter. He is a world champion but his skills are quite pedestrian if we're really talking about "great" fighters. 175 really isn't full of great fighters right now to be perfectly honest and Stevenson's resume is a bit trumped up with wins over a faded Chad Dawson and faded Tavoris Cloud. His power in his straight left is good when he's able to connect with it properly. But, he isn't great at setting it up as he doesn't jab and doesn't really have great movement or other combinations that he's good at. He is pretty patient and judicious when throwing the left hand though and he does have pretty good overall athleticism. Kovalev's skills are far and away beyond what Stevenson has, but, Kovalev has issues with southpaws. He had some issues against Caparello and even moreso against Agnew. Kovalev has a really bad habit of backing up in a straight line against southpaws who display their offense--it's the reason he got knocked down vs. Caparello. Agnew had some decent success against Kovalev because of this bad tendency that Kovalev has and likely hasn't corrected because John David Jackson (his trainer) really isn't that astute of a trainer. So, it's quite possible that Stevenson could at least knock Kovalev down with that straight left hand; especially if he throws two times in a row while coming forward. Or, feinting the first left hand and then stepping into him to land one hard shot. That's Stevenson's best chance to win.

Great analysis, agree that he backs up in a straight line. He also gets lazy with the right hand when throwing the jab leaving him open to left hooks (sillakh fight). He also seems to freeze at odd times like he's in the middle of thought or something... it's very weird. (Pascal v kov I). The only part I didn't agree with was the argument that Caparello/agnew gave him problems. At no point in the fight did I see Caparello do anything of substance. I actually that the fight was one of his easiest to date. The knockdown should have been ruled a slip because caparello was on kovalev's foot when he landed the jab. Agnew was another blowout. Agnew shelled up from the first round causing the fight to go a lot longer than it should have. The one thing he did have going for him is that when he threw, it was usually in combos.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one that sees Stevenson as a limited fighter.

Zab did good for like the first 4 rounds lol. To his credit Mayweather did adjust well in that fight.

My point is with an elite pressure fighter with power ie.Golovkin, the punches don't have to land clean to hurt Mayweather. Mayweather will shell up and more than like lose rounds because of low output. That's my view on how the fight will go.

Kovalev just can't afford to sit in front of Stevenson at all and he especially can't lay his head on his right side with his weight on his back leg leaning to the right. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Kovalev get knocked down or even badly hurt because as I stated above, he DOES have those bad tendencies and those bad tendencies lead right into what Stevenson is BEST at. So....it could get very interesting very early in the fight (if they ever fight lol).

Well, my point was more to how Kov reacted badly to when a southpaw displayed their offense. By no means was I implying that Kov "struggled" with either Caparello or Agnew. But, Agnew DID have success when he opened up his combinations but they were infrequent because he was afraid of what was going to be coming back to him. And, what I said was even more to the point of what Stevenson could potentially do because of those bad habits Kov. has. Cheers.

Thinking about it, I think that he leans to the left. I know he does this against orthodox fighters to get them in a centerline for his right hand.

But yeah, it would be an big fight, but I it's not going to happen and I don't think it would be as close as ppl think

Floyd would DECIMATE Sugar Ray Robinson if they were to fight in their primes. He was the best of his era but 90% of his fights were against factory workers and barmen.

I'd have loved to see Floyd in there with Roberto Duran. Duran may have been able to fully execute the strategy used by Maidana...sure, Duran was smaller, but he was a strong dude with a mean streak and a heck of a lot slicker boxer than Maidana

Not sure if srs

robinson fought 20 world champions (back when there was 1 champ per division) and defeated 10 hall of famers. He ducked no one sometimes having 20 fights a year. He not only was the greatest boxer in history but one of the greatest punchers with 108 kos in 179 wins. 16 of his 19 losses came after his comeback at 35 and 12 of those after he was 40

By comparison mayweather has picked and chosen who he fought and when he fought them and has also never been undisputed champ in any division

He wasn't elusive by any means as he just rolled punches off his shoulder.
His ducking and dodging was minimal. Look at Ali and his speed.
His counter punches were very good. I will not take that away from him.
He abused the clinch in many of his later fights. brb ref has to break it up every 15 seconds.
"Connecting" punches doesn't mean chit if your opponent doesn't feel them. He hasn't had a knockout in years
He may have won all his fights and been successful but he was a shame to boxing and showed just how many flaws there are within the judging system.

Again you just assume I know chit about boxing but you know nothing about me.

I don't think he is. Best self promoting boxer yeah.

Mike Tyson/ Roy Jones Jr/Ali is more of the type of boxer I like, not some dude that runs around the ring and plays defense for $100 million. No thanks jeff. That's not entertainment.

What does my opinion matter though he has all the money in the world. Still doesn't help the fact that his fights are boring as fuk tho
