indeed

native americans caused extinction of many species such as the mammoth and saber-tooth tigers, etc.

down here in Oz the natives used to set fires everywhere, killing off most medium/large mammals including our genetic cousin, homo erectus (after breeding with them to an extent. skull shape shares distinct features between homo erectus and australian aboriginals).

what they didn't do was strip the land bare, to the point where the only beautiful large areas are around volcanoes and steep mountains.

5 seconds of conciousness at most, heart attack in 10 and dead at 15

even 5 seconds would be ridiculous though, probably would not feel it tho due to shock

All joking aside that is an horrendous way to go. Just imagine;

-You fall in.
-you probably hold your breath but its hard to do so due to the heat of the water.
-you try to swim, but your skin and muscles are literally being dissolved from your flesh due to the acidity
-your mouth opens (as you scream in pain or from the flesh around your mouth being eaten away) and 200 degree acidic fluid flows in your your lungs and stomach.

here's hoping he didn't feel much after the first couple of seconds.

Pretty much this. Just read about a past victim who tried to swim and only got a couple of strokes in (*giggity*) before sinking below the surface.

I'm surprised the sister didn't snapchat any of that or record any of it. Usually people get on their phones and live life through the lens, recording every second.

Also surprised that she didn't instinctively whip out her phone to record when her bro slipped but instead yelled for help.

when he fell in his flip flop probably fell off towards the edge of the hole. Doubt it was actually submerged in the pool.

Sucks for the family but don't really feel bad for the fool. There were warning signs to not leave the "safe" area and both of the idiotic siblings decided that they thought knew better and forged on ahead. Wouldn't be surprising if they were trying to get selfies to post onto their social sites to show off their "rare" pics.

I live about an hour from the park. This chits normal.

You fuktards from the city don't know what to do when you get exposed to nature and think you can just go wandering around wherever you please. Every year I read about people trying to take selfies with buffalo and getting gored and people falling into boiling pits.

I used to have to deal with these people and one lady once asked what time the park lets the animals out. I Bert stared her because I couldn't believe she thought the animals actually got rounded up in a park bigger than the state she just came from.

If anything, people, generally those from the east coast are straight up retarded

Strange thing is the kid was a volunteer at national parks before this happened. When I was visiting Hawaii and looked up recent volcano deaths, it turns out many of the fatalities are from the more experienced visitors.

You're a good poster Benny and I usually agree with you on most stuff but this is beyond just doing something stupid. Everyone in this thread has done something risky at one point in their life. Driving drunk or with a drunk, swimming far distances like to an island or something, driving way to fast on gravel roads and fish tailing, etc etc. The difference is that he risked his life for nothing at all. It's not like he was skydiving and was an adrenaline junkie, or he was mountain climbing or something like that. He went off the safe, designated areas and wondered around these pools that would 100% kill you if you slip. I can't think of anyone reason that somebody would wander off the designated area and 'explore' an area with acid pools.

The only thing I can think of that he might have been doing is that him and his sister were trying to get cool selfies or something ridiculous like that.

Either way it's a harsh, harsh lesson that everyone had to learn the hard way.
