I usually take the accountability road when things like this happen.. like the guy with the geyser the other day.. obviously you shouldn't be fcking around a boiling hot acidic pond, especially when there are walkways you are supposed to stay on. But come on? A man made lake with a man made beach at a Disney resort with only no swimming signs around it? That's not enough, cuh. If there are alligators in the water, it's not even safe to be on the beach so why in the fck would they build one and put lounge chairs on it knowing alligators could come up at any time? Even with signage alerting to alligators that's still just dumb to me.

I'm from the south, so I know all about what animals are around here, but it's fckn Disney World, brahs. I'd expect an alligator attack about as much as I would to run into a lion.

dunno bout anyone else but i heed the signs when entering the state. hell, i was over near clearwater and they told us to shuffle our feet because of the stingrays. then they told us to watch out for manitees or sea cows and a fat bish in a kayak almost hit me swimming. everytime i'm in Florida the Indiana Jones theme rings in the back of my head like I'm in some adventure movie.

I only feel sympathy for the kid. From what I've seen on animal planet these things never eat on land, they always try to drag the prey back underwater. IF that was my kid I would have jumped on top of the alligators back and grabbed its neck. Better chance of the kid surviving because theres no way the gator would continue to grab hold of the kid with a bigger threat on its back.

Gators have some of the strongest grip strength on the planet and literal armor plating, so the only thing you can do is hope to piss it off enough to change its focus onto you or hold it until help arrives.

People come to these resorts thinking they are 100% safe but reality is all of these lakes around here are full of life.

You still have to be aware of your surroundings just like anywhere else even if this place is considered a vacation fantasy land.

You go for sensory points, gouge eyes, punch in the nose etc. If it has genitalia you can reach grab and rip. There are multiple stories of people surviving shark attacks after punching them in the nose triggering a release.

I do agree with having gator signs, since you could be hanging out on the beach and have a rogue gator come up on the beach.

But that is not what happened here is my point.

Signs/Rules are posted for a reason, those signs are probably there because of the gator population but because it doesn't look like this

then somebody will always complain that the other person/interest involved could have done more to prevent somebody elses choice to disregard a sign/rules.

That said, I hope this was an accident and they were not playing in the water when clearly signs were posted that said not to be in the water.

Retard let an unattended 2 year old play in the water that is clearly marked with 'no swimming signs'. Furthermore since the kid was in 12" of water if the father would have been paying attention he'd have likely seen the alligator approaching. Snack sized children in third world countries such as Africa and South America get taken by animals on occasion and nobody really gives a fxck. I like how one American kid with negligent/stupid parents gets eaten and its suddenly a big deal.






This might sound a bit harsh but this is just nature. Some people are literally too stupid to have kids.

I feel so sorry for the siblings that have to deal with this. As the parents though, I feel like it should be a known fact that there are alligators everywhere and that a florida lake is the worst place for a child to just be playing around in.

There would be nothing you could do once the gator has its prey. Ever tried to hold on to a pissed off iguana? 3 feet including the tail and you would have an impossible time keeping a hold of it. A seven foot gator would laugh at your attempt.
