So a cop HAS to arrest people who break the laws.

So if you don't let them do that, you are making them have to get physical, thats essentially putting their safety at risk.

Once they catch you, they catch you. You have to let them arrest you when they decide to and deal with it later.

Don't try to tell the police departments how to do their jobs. They know what the risks are better than civilians, and especially better than criminals.

Criminals don't get to decide if they get arrested or not, period.
this is so wrong. Black men have been shot and killed while running away from the cops. In the back. That is not a life in danger situation if somebody is running the fuk away.

If you cant understand the difference between resisting arrest and actively threatening an officer, you should be in remedial reading class somewhere

I think that's part of the problem. Too many people in the black community wanna identify with that "thug culture" and wanna emulate that ****

And then when an interaction with law enforcement arises, they wanna back talk and not do what they're told and then resist arrest and then cry and wonder why they're treated the way they are and why this, why that... Why are we profiled and being targeted, etc etc

I think the black community as a whole just needs better role models

It was miscommunication brah.

Because cops do jobs that are impossible for humans to do perfectly.

Yep. And do you remember the officer who shot Walter Scott?

Here he is now.

In these controversial cases, there is an investigation. If it turns out the shooting was justified (e.g. Michael Brown and soon to be Alton Sterling), then the officers walk away with their freedom and a ruined reputation. If the shooting was not justified, they face consequences.

I know a lot of people who joined and subsequently left BLM because of this very reason. The problem appears to be they want a fast revolution, which is messy and rarely holds longer than a few months.

And how about that asian cop in NY who fired at an unarmed black man? A jury convicted him for manslaughter but 1 Brooklyn judge decided to throw it out and give him probation. LOL. How can a black dude see chit like that and think that cops arent allowed to do whatever tf they want?

"Oh yeah well it was a miscommunication " when the cop shoots a guy sitting in a car with his child and girlfriend four times and is clearly freaking out lmao

And you ignored the one where the guy was clearly tazered, incapacitated, and straddled by two officers get shot twice, point blank, in his back?

Yeah, it's a wrap bro.

At this point, it doesn't matter if the victim was black at all. No one should be shot by cops for unjust reasons. Maybe you can't see that cause you place too much priority on "race."

The thing is - all violent riots and cop killings will just worsen the situation they are supposedly trying to fight. More cops will be scared for their lives when interacting with black people thus potentially more force will be used.

Pretty fukin counter productive. How about you break the stereotype instead of strengthening it.

In case you weren't aware, black people aren't the only sort of people killed by police. You're not a unique victim. And in case you didn't pay attention to the Ferguson case, being "unarmed" doesn't really mean much. Your strings are being pulled by people who want you to pay attention to the color of your skin and divide you from your fellow countrymen.

I would have thought you'd be happy to see that our justice system punishes irresponsible police officers, but instead you just want to keep complaining. I don't know what examples you're thinking of where justice wasn't served, but obviously we can't always be 100% accurate in making judgments. Also, it's possible you're thinking of cases where the shooting actually was justified and you just don't agree, such as Ferguson.

ideally cops should treat each citizen as his own person and not profile but you have to put yourself in the officer's shoes, he goes on his patrols and witnesses the behavioural patterns of certain members of the communities and over time it just becomes ingrained that he should be cautious and suspicious when interacting those people, has nothing to do with race, would be the same if they saw a wigger loitering around somewhere he shouldn't be

They could have been a danger to others.

If a police chase ensues and you put lives at risk, that is justified.

Again, don't try to tell the police departments how to do their jobs and protect our society.

You are not qualified and haven't done the research like they have.

Nobody is denying Philando Castile's death was wrong, or at the very least they shouldn't be. The cop clearly overreacted and an innocent man lost his life as a result.

Sterling Alton, on the other hand, drew a gun on a homeless man, resisted arrest, went for his gun while resisting and trying to overpower police officers, and paid the price. The first video made it seem like the cops executed him, but the second video is much more clear and shows him trying to overpower the police.

My biggest concern with the Alton case is it's going to be a repeat of Michael Brown - cops say one thing while witnesses say another, the investigation and evidence will overwhelmingly side with the cop, but it'll lead to more unrest and violence; worse, as indicated by Dallas and Ballwin, it could lead to more deaths.

It wasn't an unjust reason, he was 300lb resisting arrest reaching for his gun even after getting tazed. They couldn't properly restrain him.

Its super illegal to resist arrest bro.
