you're right, there is no market for asian males. why? because people don't like it when an asian makes it. watch jeremey lin's documentary on netflix, you'll see the struggle for an asian american. he was the best damn pg in aau but no team took him because he was the asian kid. he wont states in hs, lead his team in every category but yet no team wanted him. its pretty interesting. same chit happens in hollywood, people dont want the asian because its exotic, its different.
i dont doubt similar things happen in the film industry, youll get chan and chad. chad will get the role because he is white. simply that. if you can't accept that racism exists, youre naive and i cannot change that for you.

Racial equality in American isn't based on the concept of fairness and equality. Let's be honest about this. In American the one who shouts the loudest/fights the hardest wins. The racism towards Asians today is what blacks had to face in the 30s,40s,50s etc which was in their face. It started to change when the civil rights movement started, blacks started rioting and fighting back etc. In short black people started getting more and more aggressive and whites began to gave in. They started to take out their racism on other races and hey Asians were the easiest to pick on since they were a smaller minority than blacks and Asians weren't united. Like a Japanese/Chinese/Korean/vietnamese etc are technically Asian but since most Asians have ties to their country of origin and follow the culture of that country obviously they aren't united at all.
It really is that simple. It's not really that easy to be openly racist towards say a black or a hispanic because the chances of serious consequences are higher. It is easier to be openly racist towards Asians and Asians need to be more aggressive and racially aware and stop being uncle toms.

Your arguements and reasoning are stupid. Just stop. Crying and pointing fingers that Hollywood is racist when in fact it's the audience who supports them by watching. By your logic you should look around you and call all the audience racists instead, that is more appropriate. All these whiners are idiots, don't support what you dislike and support what does financially, money talks. And American movie goers are saying they have a preference for white leads. Make the audience responsible instead of whining victims, you are funding them after all.

See, in scenario 1, they take an existing character who is already white, and CHANGE it to black, hispanic, etc. In scenario 2, they create a brand new white character, and people bitch that it's not black, or Asian, etc.

Hollywood is going to have a big dilemma in their hands when people start realizing how racist China actually is.
The poster for Star Wars in China had a change made to it. See if you can spot what it is.

Hollywood films these days have been catering to the Chinese market more and more. That's why films like Transformers: Age Of Extinction had a huge plot point in it that takes place in China. But like I said, when the western public starts realizing just how racist and xenophobic the Chinese are, it's going to be fun watching how Hollywood juggles their relationship with both factions. The Chinese market is reluctant to support films that heavily feature blacks and minorities as the lead. That is one of the reasons you'll never see a black James Bond.

Here's the thing these idiots don't seem to realize, Chinese/Japanese/Korean/etc studios, are more than welcome to make films that represent the Asian culture. In fact, they do. But the reality of the situation is, if studios want to get exposure in the biggest market, which is America, it needs to have incentives for the general public to watch it. Hence, why a The Great Wall has Matt Damon and other western stars as leads. Let's also not forget the fact that this movie has giant monster lizards in it. But these goofballs seem to think it's misappropriating their culture regardless.
Again, nothing is stopping foreign studios from financing and making films as they please. But for some reason, some people think it's Hollywood's job to change the tide in the industry based on feelings.
I would f@ck Constance Wu sideways though.

Let's assume the white ppl are changed to non whites or the hero is a non white suddenly you would be offended and your stance would change 180 degrees on your stance about the great wall movie.

Lord of the rings is in a fantasy setting based on ancient European culture. That is where you will find that everyone in there is white the humans that is. Real cheap shot for you to specifically use orcs and the monsters cos you had to find a way to hide your biasness.
Let's assume the white ppl are changed to non whites or the hero is a non white suddenly you would be offended and your stance would change 180 degrees on your stance about the great wall movie.
