i've read all the forums, interviews and videos posted about this Sean Murray character. he lied his ass off for the sake of creating hype and driving up pre-orders and sales of the game.

I can understand why so many people are angry

Guys you don't know what a good game is ok, collecting minerals and the same factories on every planet with the same sentinels and same space stations makes the game unique and fun.

And you can't build anything, so the Minecraft comparisons aren't that accurate either.

I get that you guys are angry and feel lied to, I get that. I wish the game was more than what it was advertised and I honestly like it for what it is given it's obvious short comings - What I dont get is why you guys cant see that we dont really get companies that does game like these, not to mention a space faring game. I think it's a tremendous feat for a team of 16 people.

The procedural generation, being able to fly off into space, go into a space station and then fly off to different planet, land on it - See completely different flora and fauan - That just blows my mind. I'd love to get developer reactions on the game and what they think of Hello Games game engine and what procedural generation means for the future and future games.

Sean and his team have good ideas, their very talented. Personally I cant wait to see how they improve on NMS with patches and what they work on next.

Just as I predicted.

Did nobody learn anything over the last few years.

Watchdogs? AC Unity? Far Cry 4?

DayZ? Rust? 1000000 other early access games?

The video game community is impossible to please. They expect life altering experiences for $60. I think it's a step in the right direction from a technological standpoint.

It irritates me every time someone would ask Murray a question, he would first respond with that idiotic laugh, like he knows whats really up but hes going to go ahead and lie to the person asking the question.

lol great videos. I assumed this would be the case just from reading what the game had to offer, hence why I didnt buy it. It would be way better if you could fight people, or at least work for a federation and protect groups of people or convoys, or fight other armies, etc. If Destiny would come out with an expansion that included a "No Mans Sky" map pack, that would be a legit game. You can fly around, kill stuff, collect elements for armor and gun upgrades, fufill quests and bounties, participate in public events, etc etc. Now that's the recipe for a solid game.

tbh the biggest indicator was pre-release when the game's total data storage on disc came out, once you found out the entire game barely took up like 3 GB or something on the disc you had to know that the iterations between planets were going to be slight, thus rendering the game a procedurally generated copy of the exact same gameplay over and over with each new planet
