Also, countries like India and China pay for people to go to school specifically so they can compete as a country. We do this a little but not to nearly the same degree. Plus our universities are allowed to charge whatever they want and it's part of a huge plan to keep people in debt their entire lives. Kinda sad really.

I didn't go to college and im currently more successful then anybody I know irl. My age or otherwise. (Ok i went to like a very half a$$ed semester or two at local CC). And get this: I don't have mountains of student debt! or any!

But i'm only so sad for the bunch who make their own decision to go to college now-a-day's for 90% of the degrees/fields available. It's not like the debt comes out of nowhere. You're well aware of the costs, and if you have some decent common sense you should be very well aware of the current job market for college grads or just everyone in general.

This is true. As a college graduate with a decent job, I have seen numerous people that have gone to college taht had no business going to college. They either racked up vast amounts of student loans with worthless degrees (I did that but paid them down significantly) or went and failed out because they didn't care or thought it would be way easier.

Can the people that do IT summarize what they do exactly? Should I be thinking about programming and stuff or what? Also, how easy is it to learn that chit and how would I get into a IT related job?

Simply put, they just don't know any better.

They think they have to go to college to make money and have a life. They are also lazy so they go the easy route and fit into the system. Some make it, some end up as 4 year degree holding cashiers.

If only they new the money potential in public safety and trades.

Where are these liberal arts majors with high expectations of the job field? Never met em.
Universities themselves are falling to **** outside of being funded research/lab centers.
