This was so cool to read. Congrats OP. Biggest hike/climb I ever did was 9 miles round trip and maxed out at 4,950ft on Mt. Lafayette (didn't summit) at 330lbs including pack. The book "A Walk in the Woods" was one of my favorites about the AT. Did not read "Wild", any good books about a PCT thru hike that you read prior to going?

Did you summit Whitney?
What was sketchiest part of the trail, any places you were like oh ****?
I imagine 100 mile wilderness in Maine was the hardest part of AT, how did that compare to the hell of the desert?
What was highest elevation you achieved if you did not summit Whitney?
Was there any place on the PCT that was as exposed at the knife edge on Katahdin?

Like I said, you see people every day. I didn't go a single day without seeing anyone. So you're not as lonely as you think.

I summited Whitney but if I thru hike the PCT again I wouldn't. It was just a normal climb to me. The view wasn't that great up top. There was a snow storm the day before so everything was covered in snow. Could hardly see the trail. It took about 2/3 of the day to go up and down Whitney, miles which dont count towards the PCT.

No sketchy parts I remember

The 100MW isn't as hard as the name suggests. There are day hikers in the 100MW to it's not true that there's no access to towns. The hardest part of the AT was the Whites and southern Maine. The desert was ****ty. Yeah it was hot but there was just nothing to look at in my opinion. Others will disagree. You can actually bust big miles in the desert so it doesn't last long. It was definitely my least favorite part of the PCT.

The majority of the PCT is exposed. You're very exposed on all passes in the Sierra Nevada. There is another Knife Edge in WA.
