lol @ being called the *******
lol @ kids
I specifically tell new parents to leave their kids at home when I host, but that's mostly because they have 1-3 year old poop machines. Policy won't change until their kids are over 15, unless they can properly demonstrate how to reload a rifle and scan for threats Costa style. That kid would be fun to have at parties.

I'm wanting to possibly do an offset red dot on the Mk12 and maybe even run one as a primary on a pistol upper.
Only complaint I could see you may have is wanting more field of view on a rifle. Something that isn't as big of a deal on a pistol but for some could be an issue with rifles.

The more I read the more I'm leaning towards swapping out with a midlength gas instead of rifle length for my 16" because of dwell time. If I throw a middie in then do I need to do anything to the buffer? I've never fukked with it before so it's just the stock Colt buffer, whatever they put in there.

Are you changing the barrel? You do realize you have to plug the gas hole and then drill another if you are using the same barrel.
H or H2 buffer would be good. The colt is prob a carbine or H. Just weigh it on a scale and you can check.
