Your point makes sense, but i just dont agree. I personally thought the dad was trying to make his little girls likely first lucid Halloween a special day. With that said, i feel you. Could be seen as inconsiderate of the dad i suppose.
But a lot of the other guys hating on it specifically commented on the little girl being a brat, entitled, spawn, etc. Which is totally bizarre from my perspective.

This. If anything, it seems to be the other side getting riled up, crying that i shouldn't have kids etc (too late by the way) just based on me thinking this dad is inconsiderate lol.

The father didn't demand anyone partake in it and said that people can respectfully decline and just give the candy back to him - Again that's not a problem because he bought the damn candy for his daughter so anyone who eats it or keeps it to himself is a right *******.

I'd honestly be annoyed as fuk if somebody did this on the airplane. I hate when kids are running all over the place on planes. I hate flying as it is.

Also look at it from another point.. I'm sure those people were so happy that they actually got a chance to put a smile on some kids face. I would personally rather inconvenience the few people that might have been pissed off about this to put a smile on my daughters face and the other people that maybe got to feel good for a few minutes by being able to do something they were missing out on.
Its sorta on the same lines as people that get completely butt hurt over the smallest things and ruin it for everyone else because they feel like they are entitled to their "safe space"

Dude, read what i said in the context that i said it in. The first part of my reply was to the poster saying that those who felt any way about the dad doing what he did didnt like children. I didnt accuse or incinuate anything about the little girl.

Ofcourse its not obligatory, but youre a vibe killer if you decline, and most would do it even if they didnt want to because its the right/nice thing to do. Does that mean that every one who participated feels "awww what a nice gesture daddy did!"? I dont get why people are getting so butg hurt about this.

Meh, I can see both sides of this one. I'd probably find it cute, at the same time yeah the expectation that the entire plane should entertain your child seems pretty entitled.

kind of dick move to put other people in the position where they "have to" participate or look like a dick if they don't want to. i'm big on "live and let live" though and this should have been a "let live" kind of thing to him

Was pretty clearly a heart warming story of a dad's love for his child.
No negativity whatsoever. It's pretty straightforward. He can dote on his child all he likes, but trying to recruit others in a public space to help him do it is where things get iffy. I've already stated the reasons why.

Throwing around "tasteful" doesn't mean anything, nor does any social reinforcement/peer pressure games people ITT want to play just to have people go along just to go along. I already outlined the why of that, too. Blind spots galore.
