Does anybody know if cabelas will do like the local gun stores and look at my carry permit and skip the nics check? I'd hate to drive an hour and get delayed.

You're good to go. That's what they did with me when I picked up the stripped lowers from them. They also have you fill out the 4473 on a computer and then it prints and you check it for correctness. That was a little different.

Came home and played with them some. Guess I never really put them side by side. The Canik is definitely more G17 size than G19. It's actually a little larger than the G17. Slide is maybe 1/8" longer and its taller from the frame up.

The Canik trigger has a longer take up before it hits the wall, but it also has a shorter reset. From the reset the break is very similar between the two. Grip is better than a Gen3, worse than a Gen2. Canik points more instinctively.

Yeah . . . he got stunned pretty good and his head hurts and ribs are a little tender. But we took him to the ER as a precaution and they said he was ok. Other guy was fine. Was pretty cool about it, actually, so I didn't have to diffuse anything when I got there.

Escape may be toast. I don't know. I would guess it will be totaled, but maybe I will be surprised.
