Fair deuce. I would have loved to see him in more lead roles myself. And honestly I didn't enjoy the Ring Lord franchise one iota. I just loved him in all his other roles he's done.

I don't know. It kind of feels like he pissed the wrong person off or something. He's one of my top 5 favorite actors though. It's crazy how little he's done since The Illusionist.

Indeed, I watched "Primal Fear" for the first time a couple weeks ago and he was incredible in that

That could very well be. I know the only reason he did that Incredible Hulk movie in 2008 was because of a contract obligation so he really phoned in his performance. He really wanted to get out of doing that film.

Thats a good one too, I think the majority of the "alpha dog" cast is underrated. Foster was about as nuts in that one as in "Hell or High Water"

He's in my personal top 5. But I'm pretty sure he's made it big. He's had lead roles in 3:10 to Yuma, Lone Survivor, Warcraft: The Beginning, 30 Days of Night, The Mechanic, Pandorum, Hell or High Water, Inferno, 11:14, The Finest Hours, The Messenger, Kill Your Darlings, Rampart, Ain't Them Bodies Saints, Get Over It, 360, Bang Bang You're Dead, The Program, Liberty Heights, Birds of America, Here. But my favorite roles he played were in the movies Hostage and Alpha Dog.

It's because they didn't suck enough cock or take it up the arse to get roles. I bet you 90 percent of the current actors whored themselves to get the roles they're in. You wanna a lead role, then you gotta play your role and get your sh*t pushed in by the producers.

That's a weird theory. It probably revolves around money, honestly. Just like any other industry.

Heard it was the other way round, he's turned down all sorts of chit because it doesn't interest him, he actually wants to act and stretch himself.

Ones that always surprise me (and yeah, they're successful, but still):

He's also stated that he's struggled finding work because of his height. Most popular leading actors in Hollywood are manlets and manaverages. He's a manmore and apparently doesn't get hired for supporting roles because he makes the leads look short.

Brendan Fraser is also another on the list, I'm assuming his alimony just destroyed any chance of his career blooming after The Mummy.

It's not like he's blacklisted, but yeah he did piss off some producers and studio heads. Most of them have cooled off by now.

But to his credit, if he continued to be the big green guy he wouldn't have done Leaves of Grass, Moonrise Kingdom, Bourne, Grand Budapest Hotel, or Birdman.
