Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit softly.

One of the best ways it was explained to me is that if you're going to punch someone, what position is your wrist going to be in?
-your wrist is going to be straight as that generates the most power and stability
-your wrist is NOT going to be bent upwards and striking with your palm
That little tip right there really made me sort of think differently about how bench pressing is actually performed. It really is just contracting your muscles and punching directly to the ceiling.

People with sore shoulders etc probably just have their elbows up too much.

Woah wtf. Who uses this grip? It should be common sense not to do that.

It's right in the damn name why you shouldn't do it. They put it right there so everyone would understand but that wasn't obvious enough for this guy.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

Don't think I've ever done it on any lift except light close grip bench press at waist level with an ez curl. I hate benching enough as it is. DB press or nothing crew.

IF you really wanted to use suicide grip, could you use straps to make it safe? The bar won't roll cause of the straps (assuming you keep your fingers over the strap) and you still get the benefit of the suicide grip?
I use suicide grip for all my OHP press sets and used to use it all the time for bench press. Normal grip for OHP just feels extremely unnatural and a lot weaker. But after seeing the result I think its probably not a good idea. That weight drops faster than your reaction time and you'd be paralyzed doing OHP

Anyways the reason the suicide grip is better mechanically is because it allows you to press through the inner palm, which is normally blocked by the thumb gripping the bar.

If anything has the word "suicide" in it, then it's probably not worth doing....unless it's for the EMPEROR!!!!!!!!

Well if someone knows a better way let me know, otherwise I'll have to keep doing suicide grip on certain exercises because of my small womanly hands. Feels more comfortable on the hand/wrist joints. People who do it in powerlifting though is pretty ****ing scary.

Seen a couple of these vids before and make me fuking cringe. Haven't seen any of people actually dying but it's fuking scary watching these people drop 300+lbs on them and struggling to get out.
Someone posted one the other day and the guy dropped it on his neck but he didn't have clips on and it actually saved his life.
