The real hammer is when they hit 45 though, most places (ethically) wont allow a woman to undergo IVF adn donor egg (young womans egg implanted) is usually the only option, with often multiple times needed. This is when trisomies like downs/edwards etc. start to ramp up. Expect to see a very large icnrease of twins in the coming decade or so as well

Edit: Can confirm young woman was sponsored partially in her egg freezing by big 4 firm

Yeah good eggs are collected and fertilised from a round/cycle of stimulation. Their development is monitored, usually to day 5, but anywhere from day 3 is ~ok. You don't know which eggs will/wont develop into good embryos, in th ebets outcome, you have multiple embryos left over, so you freeze the rest. Having good mebryos frozen really takes the pressure off tbh.

In terms of tiny human, well the foetal hearbeat cant be detected until week 7 scan, which is the make or break for carrying it through - definitely the first trimester anyway. This is where I would probably draw the line in terms of what is/isn't human. Regardless, this isn't a question about ethics etc. but freezing eggs/embryos are the same except embryos have a much higher chance of success as the next stage has already been done.

If you really want to get into a an ethical grey area you should google PGD or "family planning" with donor eggs

Wizard answer. PGD isn't available here though, I think they're rewriting the legislation currently. Eastern Europe, UK and the US allow for PGD, where I think the US really places emphasis on the pre genetic disorderr bit, as opposed to Eastern Europe, who will simply screen the embryos if you ask them to. It is expensive, but it basically allows you to see which embryos are male/female, and so if you had 3 boys and wanted a girl....

Where some people have issues with this, is that some people try their whole lives for one decent embryo, while "family planning" discards the embryos not wanted. SO you can imagine the animosity people with infertility issues may have. It is important to stay objective though, as you dont know what the case/cause for most of these are, so it's not your palce to inform the patient of your standpoint.

There is a newspaper article on a new york couple who spent over 100k(!!) on getting a girl. That is a crazy amoutn of money. SOme people concieve with under a grand of costs, most run into 6 or 7, some need up to 20. But 100k is craaaazy.

Edit: Seems that US allows for family planning/ sex selection just as liberally as they please. Dat cash cow. There is good AMA from a reproductive attending in conneticut if anyone is interested. Is a lucrative field, and can beveryfinancially rewarding if you stomach the guilt/ethics of dragging people through. Not what you want in a doc in my opinion, but more profit menas more money for better docs, better equipment etc so its a hard line to draw

A divorcee is different. She has had he kids, she's essentially achieved what she needs to.

This is about single women who remain childless, its a completely different kettle of fish

Even then, its rare to find a woman who isnt ultimately looking to transition from taking a few dicks to finding a more steady partner, even if they're not exclusive. From the older women I smashed, I just found that they had to become nastier and more desperate in order to compete with younger sloots. Women dont age as well as men do, where older men can benefit from their experience and accrued wealth, an older woman doesnt have a ton to offer men of any age really.
