I, for some idiotic reason, let myself get soaked and acted like I didn't care, because I thought that my lack of caring about being wet would look cool and because I reasoned that girls like guys who look and act cool. At best, I probably looked like an idiot who didn't know that wetness is uncomfortable and that it's good to stay dry. At worst, nobody even noticed and I made my day more uncomfortable for no reason. There was no benefit to my sacrificing of comfort, I had just imagined that there would be.

This is how many FAs continually act when it comes to girls, wherein they'll sacrifice their own pleasure and comfort for an accrual of imagined benefits. They'll not hit on a girl they like, or they'll act all lonery when they're out, or they'll not talk to people, or they'll wallow in pity at no-gf rather than fixing it, and then they'll revel in the pain that results from their lack of action. They think that living out their life with lots of wallowing self-sacrifice somehow adds up points on a sort of Universe-Fairness-Scoreboard, and with enough self-sacrifice, you'll eventually get your rewards and will catch up with everyone else in terms of life progress.

That's not how it works. Nobody notices your self-sacrifice. Nobody cares. You get no points. You're doing yourself out of pleasure.

If you're wallowing in pity because kissless virgin, be aware that your descendants would be far more proud to know that you fixed it by - for example - banging the cheapest nastiest hooker in the most vulgar fashion possible, rather than wallowing in pity on your own until you're old and pitiful. Fix your problems yourself, don't expect people to notice your suffering and to fix them for you. Nobody gives a sh*t, and even your best, most well-meaning friends, will be happy for you to stay exactly how you are forever.

I also do believe most people are too negative in their views. There is however a very fine line between having a negative view on things vs just being very honest with situations.

Now that I understand, I agree with your assessment, however for most true FA, it's not as easy as realizing xyz and just "sacking it up"

Repped OP. This is such a genuine post. I used to be an extreme FA. I still do have FA tendencies to self sabotage myself. Today i was supposed to meet a chick who kept messaging me but i just ignored her and came up with a lame excuse. I apologised to her and we're meeting tomorrow.

The truth really is that NOBODY CARES. I've lost countless opportunities simply cos i was too worried about what other people would think of me. Its sad that the ones who need help the most are the ones who are denying the truth.

First bold... A few years back i read a study that the military did. It said something like the typical person with a negative self image says something like 600 negative words/thoughts an hour to themselves. I thought that was mind blowing when i read it.

2nd bold... I absolutely agree. People need a little faith in themselves (not spiritual) that their view is just wrong and a little faith to try something different. Most of all ... they need to take some kind of action no matter how small just to get some momentum. I for one loathed the idea of big tasks/goals, because a lot of it was not wanting to fail and feel like i just wasted energy and time. That kind of thinking i found generally kept me from attempting anything at all. So then a year goes by ... same chit ... same view point. Then another... and another. Before you know it, 10 years have gone by with zero real progress. Then you really beat yourself up because you start going, "Damn, using the 10,000 hours rule I could of become an expert in at least 5 things in that time period." Vicious cycle that only gets broken by letting go and doing.

lol acquiring knowledge is nothing like saying, "Be confident". And I've yet to read a decent self help book like you describe. Most people read those books so they can convince themselves that their doing something ... no different than people that show up to the gym once a week and walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes. There is fake doing something, and then there is taking serious action and getting chit done.

I had an Appalachian Trail thread that i posted years ago. I slothed it up for years. Took me 1 year to switch jobs, pay off 20K in debt, save another 20K liquid, complete a 25 jump skydiving program, and then hike 2000 miles. I did more in that 1 year than i did the previous 5. Because i actually took real action. You're right ... most of those books are BS if all they do is collect dust on the shelf.

He's a *******. He's not a boxer and to call him one is a joke. It's one thing to think he's the best, it's another to put in all the work to be the best. Did this ******* put in an ounce of the same work as Ali? Nope. Do FA's put in an ounce of the same work as non-fa's? Nope.

To be fair, there's something mentally wrong with that guy. He challenged Floyd Mayweather's 70 something year old Dad in sparring then sucker punched him afterwards.
