I'm more of a fan of the person that works hard against any and all adversity and keeps their mouth shut. I think humility WITH action is very powerful.

I'm not a fan of someone claiming to be the best when clearly they are not EVEN if they put in 100%. Running their mouth diminishes the fact that they did work hard. But I guess different role models for different types of people.

And for the record, I'm wasn't asking you if they had to be the best to have your support. I was asking if it was ok to run their mouths since they put in 100% and your answer was also Yes.....

There's one from Microboard (I think they're a Korean brand similar to Yamakasi) which has a VA panel and is really similar to the Samsung. I think they're around $700. It doesn't have the Quantum Dot backlighting, but otherwise it's still 3440x1440, 100hz, VA panel, and I "think" it has AMD FreeSync.

I lift several days a week. You regain weight when you hit a weight loss plateau that lasts for months and no matter what you do, you can't lose more weight, so you get frustrated and say fukc it, and eat junk for the holiday season.

Possibly. I mean you have to be a realist as well as a dreamer. Maybe Charlie Zelenoff could be a great boxer but he just hasn't taken the necessary steps in his life to become that. Or maybe he's just incapable, I don't know him. I guess you have to know what you can control and know what you can't control and do the best with what you can.

I bought my Yamasaki off ebay and was impressed with the seller. An additional $20 guaranteed no dead pixels... not sure if that was BS but it didn't come with any bad pixels from Korea. I might look if i still have the paperwork for that seller and see if they still operate on Amazon or eBay. I can do component level board repair so the only thing that worries me is the screen and price. Makes me wonder now if i can get a hold of one or something similar for free that someone thinks is trash because of a bad capacitor or something easy.

Typically the "No Dead Pixel Guarantee" is honored, at least when you order through Amazon. These companies like Yamakasi, Catleap, QNIX, etc are all using LG and Samsung panels that for some reason didn't pass 100% QA testing. Usually the problem is something silly like a blemish on the housing or similar, but they can't sell it at a premium as a result, so they sell the panels off to these 3rd party companies who rehouse the panels into cheaper bezels/stands, and sell for less $$$.

So Samsung makes the panel (that part i was aware of with Yamakasi), sells it to Yamakasi, who then pushes it off to their sellers? Does the seller open each up and inspect for dead pixels/issues and rejects the ones that do have them ... or are they just a front on Amazon/eBay for the 3rd party company?

If a defect is found (not necessarily a functional defect, we're talking about a scratch on the back of the panel housing or similar), then they sell these A- or B+ grade panels to Yamakasi (or other parties) who then puts the panel in a bezel/stand and sells it. They still do QA for dead pixels, but obviously some will still get through the system. If you buy the "No Dead Pixel Guarantee", they're supposed to check the panels individually to ensure no issues before they send it out to you, the buyer.

Got it.

Looking at a few of your videos you definitely know your stuff. Did you learn all of that because its your hobby or do you do reviews and stuff for a site? I assume at minimum you do IT work but you remind me of the 3dgameman guy and other like him.

When me and my ex split I kind of looked at myself as flawed, especially with being introverted. I remember being fooled by stupid pick-up stuff, and thinking I could turn into some charismatic, suave, charming individual. In reality, that wasn't going to work.

My innate personality works better within the realm of small groups, or one on one interaction. I'll never be the guy who is super comfortable in large social settings, making everyone laugh, and just being the highlight of everyone's night.

I have a friend like this and it's natural for him; it's been like that, for him, from the beginning. I'm all for self improvement, but I think a lot of who we are isn't plastic. I could recommend just trying to have a better attitude, or pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, but is there anymore you can do but that?

I think a lot of people are guided by their past experiences as well. It's hard to break out of a rut when there is no positive reference points.

Life is difficult and confusing. I definitely fear dying alone, without finding a faithful partner, but I am blessed with having a small group of friends who view me as some sort of quasi family member.

I learned anything hardware related as a hobby. I work in Network Compliance for a living. Anything I review on YouTube I buy for myself. I do a lot of buying and selling on Craigslist so I get things used where possible. I trade with people also which is a nice fringe benefit of not buying things retail all the time. The Samsung however I paid retail price for, given that there aren't any used ones on the market as yet.
