There was a point where I thought I was going to be poor the rest of my life. Left a bad job in the recession, ended up renting a basement out after roommates wanted a closer friend to move in. Probably shouldn't have left, but I was depressed already over the bad job, then got more depressed. Had no self-confidence after having abusive supervisors, prior to this i was upbeat, positive and full of confidence. Now completely defeated for a few years, forgetting what confidence was. I never left the job, because I didn't know much else.
Said enough was enough, found a new job, worked my ass off and tried hard on improving social skills, ended up as a manager in a year +, put some serious cash away and went back to get my degree. Almost finished with my Finance and Investment Science degree, got a better job that pays more and in my field. Better yet, I have no debt and somehow managed to start a business and buy a few houses. Just 8 years ago I was a fukin mess, but I just started being more positive and had drive.
I've had to make a lot of sacrifices to get where I am, like cutting negative people and even family out of my life, to truly concentrate on success.

One day I woke up in jail while not knowing how or why I got there (blackout drunk). I knew I got my ass kicked as one eye was swollen shut and every inch of my body felt like it was kicked around. I just laid on my cot and felt comfort knowing that I was where I was supposed to be. I knew society was safer because i was in a cage.

Two things
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Basically saying Don't be so obsessed with material things because you can lose it all like nothing . Who you are is much more valueable.
This next one I have in picture form. Self explanatory. Another very good one.

Working on my self esteem and truly ****ing loving myself
Knowing my value
Claiming my high status. Never put anybody other than a teacher above me. In fact putting myself just an inch (non physical) above people.
Making strong eye contact when talking to people and looking away 10-30% of the time when others are talking to me like something else is getting my attention and your going to have to work a bit harder for my attention.
Making a solid list of affirmations and repeating them for 5 minutes morning and night
Increasing my vocal tonality. Never seeking rapport. Speaking up louder.
Not caring what other people think.
Body language
Not fearing rejection. Knowing it has nothing to do with you and everything with her. Your just not what shes looking for.
Having standards with women. Being hard to impress and hard to get. Seeing if she's worthy of my time, but only approaching to give. Refer to next point.
Giving to give, not looking to receive anything. Giving a gift to the world. My time is a gift, sex is a gift. (no I dont have a big dick)
Being in control of my state.
Being non reactive.
Quit smoking weed
Accepting what can not be changed no matter what. e.g height and doing everything I can to change what I can.
Learning a lesson from mistakes and not making the same mistake twice.
Looking myself in the mirror for minutes at a time saying I love you and meaning it. 100% acceptance no matter what.

Mainly I quit trying to befriend people that obviously didn't have time for me. I was always the one putting effort into keeping friendships going. Doing the calling when I wouldn't hear from people for a month or more. Screw that
When I finally quit being needy I felt a lot better.
I also had a tendency to overshare ..probably in hopes that by telling personal things about myself we would form a deeper connection.
Not anymore!
Also...If someone makes fun of you they are insecure. I tell my kids this all the time bc it is very true. No confident person has a reason to bash others.

Self-determination/personal agency is the only thing that can transform your life by an order of magnitude so great, that you can literally evolve from a welfare recipient trapped in the gutters of life, to become a billionaire philanthropist, whose praises are sung throughout the course of history.
Here are some of my favorite quotes that I try to hold myself accountable to every day:

I awoke in a hotel room dressed in a jedi robe the same colour as obi wan kenobi wore (brown), i was covered in fake tan, had a raging boner and there was viagra beside the bed and a half drunk bottle of blue label Johnny Walker.
The night before i was out drinking with my girlfriend and her friend and her boyfriend. Myself and the boyfriend got really drunk and thought it would be cool to go out and bond.
According to him we got really drunk and thrown out of a bar because we thought that getting in a fight would help us male bond (gay i know, but we were really drunk), we went to another bar and to cut a long story short he said the barman said i left with a girl after he fell asleep at the bar.
I didn't contact my gf until 4pm the next day when i awoke. I had serious explaining to do.
To this day i only have a vague recollection of this girl who was at the bar, and have no idea where i got a Jedi cape, fake tan, where my clothes went, or where i could have got the whiskey or viagra.
I confided in a friend and told him that i wasn't going to make it.
He responded by saying the following.
"I don't know what is wrong with you, you don't realise that you could do anything that you wanted. You are smart and are good at whatever you put your mind to. Look at me i am a phucking manlet with an ugly wife, two kids, and a chit job, you have a 10/10 gf, no kids and can do whatever you want and you don't even bother and are still successful, just imagine what you could do if you put your mind to something? You just need to realise this."
Chit made me realise what a dick i had been.

-The Tao Te Ching, written in China around 600 BC, first articulated the idea of wu wei. “Do that which consists in taking no action and order will prevail,” the book explains. The idea is that we should stop trying to force action and get comfortable doing less. Then, when we do move, our actions are natural, energetic, and accomplish the desired results. By stepping back and observing, we can make better decisions. Wu wei shows that when we stop making waves, and learn to wait and watch, we see outside forces more clearly and make wiser moves. Act hastily, and every step is a potential blunder, with emotion and ego driving our decisions more than reason.
Success does not happen overnight. It takes time and patience. There is a long period of silence, when nothing seems to happen. Then all of a sudden opportunities come your way. Be prepared for those opportunities. Continuously strive to better yourself, and when that opportunity presents itself, execute with no hesitation.
-Instead of asking "What do you want in life?" ask yourself “How do you choose to suffer?”
People who enjoy the struggles of a gym are the ones who get in good shape. People who enjoy long workweeks and the politics of the corporate ladder are the ones who move up it. People who enjoy the stresses and uncertainty of the starving artist lifestyle are ultimately the ones who live it and make it. Your struggles determine your success. Fall in love with the struggle.
-this intro by P.Diddy in the song "Nobody" by French Montana. Motivational/10
"You wanted to ****in' walk around these roaches. These *****s is roaches. These *****s is mere mother****in' mortals. I'm tryna push you to supreme bein'. You don't wanna mother****in'... You don't wanna embrace your destiny, you wanna get by.
You don't wanna go into the mother****in' dark where it's lonely. You can't handle the mother****in', the pain of the mother****in' not knowin' when the **** is gonna stop"

When my dad died back at the end of 2015. It really fuked me up for several months but I just hit this point towards the end of last year where I realised what I wanted from my life. I no longer give a fukk about the most minuscule thing's that would worry me. I can't really explain it but I guess after going through that and the depression I realised how good and important it is to be happy. That was a terrible explanation but srs do you and do what makes YOU happy.

I've spent the better part of my life trying to decode absolute truth in this world. I thought there was some elusive formula for how to best live life. Maybe it was in the hands of a sage, a billionaire, a philosopher, a theoretical physicist, or a buddhist monk. I've come to the conclusion that there are no such formulas. No such truths. As neitzsche said, "fatal truths no longer exist; there are too many antidotes.
There are simply different ways to live life. Different ways to perceive it. We find different beliefs, different paths, and we grip the ones that we want to embody. Each path accompanied by unique amounts of pain and pleasure. All else is manifestation of the ego.
And for that I am no longer deeply impressed by these tidbits of life advice. Life is far too complex to be accurately captured by a mantra or quote or bumper sticker slogan.
With that said, I keep a sticky open on my computer where I paste any thoughts I find insightful or creative. I have hundreds of them now, some were found on youtube comments, some were spoken by famous people, some were even written by miscers. I just don't put too much stock into any single one.

A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week. - George S. Patton
If you have a goal, plan or something to change, you gotta do it right now instead of hesitate. I like that quote very much.
