My whole life I've heard this, but about 3 years ago I test drove a few and they felt 100% basic, absolutely no different from how ANY other car feels. Granted I didn't drive their absolute top of the top, but ANY automaker has the top lines that perform well, especially when compared to the cost of a BMW.

As someone who's driven all sorts of cars and has exotics, I completely don't see it. My guess is this is a statement that held true in the 1990s, when cars were significantly different, and it has just been a slow to die off idea about the BMW.

I agree, exteriors are improving but still a bit meh, and the interiors are extremely meh. Don't get me wrong, I have seen some REALLY sexy interiors on a BMW at a car show, but it's only on models that get close to $100,000 new. Once again, you can say that for any car these days that costs $100,00.

Actually here it is in my exact year and colors:

I drive a cts-v coupe and the interior is great. The console isn't everything I want, but recaro seats and everything else is premium. I've also owned a cadillac ats and the interior is on par with the german rivals in it's category - aside from the '16 MB c300

Ah those are badass cars, I want a V coupe. Just don't want to pay for it. I have a Cadillac too, a CTS. Love it, but mine is a 2008 and I feel like the newer interiors got worse. My year CTS was the last aggressive bodystyle for the sedan

I hear people and mechanics say that Mercedes is the last one of these major luxury brands that builds their parts with steel and quality metals that last.

The fact that I've heard that from mechanics, as well as people on this forum/other places in life makes me a huge Mercedes fan, and their looks are really damn good too. Interiors are top notch.

They all kinda have crappy interiors compared to merc imo. Im building a custom c63 s but the guy told me it will take 3 months to get here. Was really considering both m3/m4 but the sound sucks and u need competition package to compare to c63 coupe. Which ends up costing over 80k so might as well get the merc
