I know absolutely nothing about pistol lights, not sure if there are reliability issues, or the cost is just high or what. If he had a light mounted on his handgun he literally would not have shot himself.

Aren't there issues with semi-auto shotguns? Even so, you're still very limited with capacity, follow on shots are slower and less accurate, etc. 5.56 sucks dick, but the pros outweigh that and what I would personally want to carry in that type of situation based on my experience*

Aside from cost issues, pistol lights create the problem of officers having to point their weapon at everything they want to light up. Basically even if you have a pistol light, you're still supposed to carry and use an additional light in your off hand. That's how I was trained at least, can't speak for Louisville. Could ask my friend but it's probably a bad time for that..

You're not going to bring out a shotgun and/or AR to every call like that (if they even have ARs in their vehicles, not sure). Also, cops aren't trained with shotguns or ARs like you and I or anyone else ITT basically. Unless you're on SWAT or a tac team, your AR training is basically how to shoot stationary, at a stationary target. Maybe a little bit of moving and shooting in the case of an active shooter, but still very limited. Zero instruction on clearing rooms or weapon manipulation in a close quarters environment (that's basically all "leave it to the SWAT team"). I'm guessing most cops would be more comfortable clearing a house with their pistols than with an AR. Add to the fact that it's night and AR training with flashlights is also basically non-existent at a lot of departments, it makes perfect sense while every officer was using a pistol and flashlight in their off hand.

I just assumed it was common sense that a cop carrying a light on his handgun would also have a separate one and only use the handgun mounted one when he already had his handgun out, like in that video where they were clearing a house. Being trained to use a separate one while your handgun is drawn when it has a light mounted just seems dumb, what was the reasoning? I'm talking about a scenario like the one in the video, where they were clearing a house and had their weapons up the entire time.

That's what I figured with the ARs. Even if cops supply the rifles themselves, the departments are still responsible for their training and that can easy add a lot of money. Sucks departments don't have higher funding for training. Even my buddy on SWAT out here has limited training. Several of them take their own time and money and attend courses by SOF dudes.

If you use the light on your weapon without having one in your offhand it creates problem when dealing with innocent people for example because you want to illuminate them, but don't want to point your gun at them. Or if you're watching a hallway/doorway and an officer needs to walk in front of you (or just does, because dumb), you need to put your gun down and can't illuminate the hallway anymore so you don't know what's happening there anymore. I believe this happens in the video posted. PD's are very picky with who you can/can't point your gun at. Obviously, lots of cops have weapon mounted lights and use them just like you suggest, but training doctrine is normally against that, which is why departments don't issue them or the holsters for them and not all officers will spend the $400-500 for holster+light. I don't necessarily agree with these policies but it is what it is. I obviously have a weapon mounted light and use it.

And yeah AR training is pretty sad. I've heard of departments that bring new officers to a range and basically say "This is an AR, this is how you reload, this is how you shoot, have fun with these 100 rounds, now you're trained!". My PD had 3 days of training which is basically unheard of, but it was basically just a dragged out version of the above with a little moving and shooting and a few up down/failure/etc drills. Also, I wasn't allowed to use an AR at my department the first 6 months I was on because I didn't attend the training yet because it was 3 days and they needed to wait until they got enough new officers to attend the training and make it worth it.

Can't speak for SWAT guys since I never actively participated in their training directly, but unless you're on LAPD SWAT or another big time agency that has a full time SWAT team, local SWAT teams mostly get minimal training a couple days a month because all the officers have to work their full time patrol shifts as well.

I have a downstairs half-bath with a tiled floor (off-white tiles).

When installing pins with detents, I go in there. Close the door, make sure the toilet lid is down, and install the part.

If a detent or spring gets away from me, it can't go far. Also, it will be easy to find on the tile.

Denver cops had several incidents of accidentally shooting people because they have weapon-mounted lights and they can't seem to operate them without their finger on the trigger.

If you have to get ON get gold standard whey in extreme milk chocolate. High quality, proven, reliable, good macros and price, but haven't kept up with most of the rest on flavor improvements lately. Strawberry-Banana is pretty good too. Vanilla and Strawberry and probably the worst

srs? I've been using their protein for like 10 years. Never had any problems or complaints. Also remember reading a study a while back where they had one of the highest %'s of protein advertised//actual protein.

ON gold is GOAT. I dislike the strawberry, but I don't like anything artificial strawberry aside from pop tarts. Double rich chocolate is great and smells like cocoa powder. Tastes like chocolate milk. Beware of the cookies and cream flavor though. Smells like fruit cake, tastes like ass.

But it doesn't give me the shiits. Only caffeine does that to me.

Not sure if I ninja edited that or not, you may have missed the "High quality, proven, reliable, good macros and price"...Optimum is a good reliable company and their protein powders will actually give you what the label claims and always have, even before the scandals caught a bunch of big companies ripping off consumers by lying on the label. But most other popular companies have spent a lot more R&D on flavoring over the years and left ON watching from the sideline there.

Also, when somebody starts a thread asking about the worst tasting proteins we have had, the ON whey vanilla, and strawberry, are common responses lol
