Can the fitness community STOP encouraging deadlifts/compounds?
How many more people need to get injured until the fitness community stops encouraging people to do deadlifts, OHP, squats, or any other compounds?
Srs. I have not seen a SINGLE person in my gym deadlifting right. Every single one of them has an arched back of peace even when they don't even realize it.
Look, the deadlift is a great exercise when done CORRECTLY. If you have a legit personal trainer, or learn how to deadlift at an olympic or powerlifting gym then it's probably awesome to you because you're doing it correctly. But chances are you don't watch furcking YouTube fitness videos or whatever. Reality is that 99% of lifters who do compounds do them really furcking wrong, and only set themselves up for injuries.
Same applies to OHP and other compounds... Your goal at the gym shouldn't be to get a herniated disc, it should be to get stronger or build muscles.
Broscience and fitness culture tells people to do "alpha" compounds, but seriously phuck that. Your health is more important than everything else. Don't worry, you can still get big legs from leg press.
Discuss.

Stopped deadlifting and now I only front squat. Compounds might be great for overall strength, but **** it I just want aesthetics.

sigh.
compound exercises should be the core of any persons routine bro. If you see someone about to hurt themselves, intervene. IF they take the advice, great, if not, well its their loss.
It's not the exercise that needs to go, it's idiots who don't know how to lift, or are too hard headed to seek help that need to go.
You're probably a liberal too, huh?

it's the responsibility of the gym goer to learn the moves he's performing. it's not the fitness community's problem or responsibility when someone doesn't bother to learn the move properly before maxing out. you say it yourself; these lifts done correctly are terrific. so take the time to learn them.

No, compounds should be done. It is ego lifting that is causing everyone to go snap city.

You should be able to work this out for yourself by the time you're out of your teens tbh
anyone dumb enough to fall for the old "squats and oats, gotta do dead lifts etc" rhetoric deserves what they get

I think compounds in the low rep range with crap form (aka lifting too heavy) is the real problem

How about you stop encouraging people to be pussies OP.
Because that is exactly what this thread is doing.
