SNAP?! 100?!

their business model is flawed IMO. Its maxxed out with the top contributors. Most people won't want to post due to looking stupid or ugly. ********/insta you can edit pics and make them look really good. Snap can catch very unflattering angles which will turn loads of people away. Right now you have all the attention whores in it, user base will slowly decline as they begin to tire out.

Regret not buying into the strength. How many times has that dipped into upper 90s and bounced hard af?

Not sure, I'm just buying the dip, well see if it strengthens. I've been pyramiding adding shares every point it goes up. Trying to keep my risk low, it could get pummeled.

I want to start investing again with $10k. Should I put it in some kind of S&P 500 index fund or pick my own stocks?

I invested in individual stocks 10 years ago with about $4k. With my bad picks I lost it all.

Put 8k in index fund, and try to play from $2k on your picks.

Snap is a POS on its own. IMO, buying this stock is solely a bet on it being acquired.

I get the skepticism, which is understandable, but this is what everyone said about ******** and Twitter. Even Twitter grew and went up tremedously, before they slowed down. After FB had it's intial pop, the stock got smashed on monetization fears.

Like I said insider lockups and their media deals have a strong floor for the stock. If it hits 17, it's a strong buy. Let's see where we are at after their first quarter of being public.

I'd rather buy SNAP at 17, than buy Nvidia that everyone is enamoured with. Not only does that have a crazy high valuation, but its in a space filled with competition. NXPI, QCOM, INTL, Micron, Xiliynx, Cavium, etc, etc

But I don't think SNAP is anything like ********. Or even as good a prospect as Twitter.

I just don't see how you can monetize SNAP and not lose users. I'm also certain the competition will wreck SNAP's market.

You have to be selective. I like Novartis for example. One of the biggest pharma companies. Excellent pipeline, it's been hurt by FX and competition of course.

For foreign exposure in general I like the ishares MSCI ETFs. For example EEM for emerging markets which I recommend

I'm not an expert in media, but I like the founders. They're are like zuckerberg, ev williams, etc. The advertising space is a growing one so there will be space for more competitors. People like live stuff, and seeing people's experiences in video form. I'm super entertained by watching all my friends/people I follow snap stories. It's like watching tv/live YouTube/YouTube on the go

I tried it for a couple months and gave up because it is a bunch of traders gambling trying to pump/dump better than the next guy. I prefer to trade on fundamentals using some technical indicators to determine my entry points.

Had to unsub from bitcoin thread after trying to troll because I literally cannot believe the schit some of those people are saying. The worst is that the ones pumping it are the ones who would recognize a downtrend and bail, but the tards tryna get some "easy money" will get wiped out.

There definitely are pump and dump schemes on there, more so on the pink sheets and OTC. I think what most traders refer to as 'pump and dump' for these companies is incompetent management raising money then not knowing how to move forward with it. I'm partial towards OTCBB though since the reporting standards are those of NASDAQ. I take it you're not a momo trader at all haha. In the end, there is more money to be made on these companies ... but the capital asset pricing model does dictate there is more money to be lost as well.

Perhaps if I was trading for a living I would look into it because they see more pricing fluctuation. I'm just finishing school and have no money till June anyway so I haven't invested much haha, but when I do it will be long term holds that I'll probably hold for a minimum of a year. You are right there is money to be made if you can tolerate the risk and can babysit positions day in and out.

How do people feel about energy transfer partners? Fuking finally got the pipeline finished and every judge refuses to prevent them from pumping oil. I think they got no where to go but up at this point. They also have an 11% dividend, but I haven't looked at their financials. Is that something they can continue long term or are they gonna cut that and have further issues?
