Everything revolves around the $US. But if that were to happen. I believe they use a basket of different currency to trade vs gold.

I think some countries in the ME tried to do that, take $US out of the oil equation, but then again that's probably when the US said nah bro.

No one is panicking. If you look at DCF analysis that was done before it predicted exactly what we've seen. I personally think it's still massively overvalued by a good 50%.

I entered SPY 227puts today which expire in exactly two weeks. Today was just a massive theta burn on the options so I kinda got burned but the correction should resume.

So now we know how it can trade again but did the value of gold go up or down? As in, did gold actually lose value on a declined market, since it will be trading with another currency most likely.

Been trying to find answers but does really seemed to be a much talked about subject since it will probably never truly happen.

It's hard to imagine, but if the US' currency gets into trouble. The whole world will be in a very messed up situation.

Most people would lose faith in their respective governents currency as well.

I think money would be flooding into gold at that point and demand for gold would surge along with price.

Let's be real tea, the last thing that's gonna happen is a US$ decline. The problem the world will face will be the $ going on a massive rally breaking the world economies and thus forcing the world to abandon it as the reserve currency.

It will fall some assuming the Euro stabilizes with the threat of countries goes away. I think there is a lot of european money sitting in US equities.

Revenue =/= profit. Netflix spends a bunch on licensing for the various shows they stream. I think the better answer is expected growth of user base. Netflix has about the biggest catalog of shows and they are the cheapest to get without advertisements. If they can continue expanding obviously they can pull in a yuge some of money. What I think people are assuming is that the # of subscribers will outgrow the costs of licensing. Or they just assume streaming services will overtake cable and everything will be streamed in the near future. @other guy Ford didn't revise down profit for the year or anything. They also have a lot more of loans they give to car buyers than the company has itself so actually I would say you are wrong that higher interest will in fact be a great thing for Ford, but it could slow sales some.
