Every media outlet and their moms saying markets will drop if the vote is "no". Spx down on people speculating the no votes

Turns out to be true, bill gets pulled completely

Why would a no drop the market? Everyone wanted to keep obamacare aside from the republicans. To change is to cause uncertainty which is the driving force of market dips at this point. You should have expected this boyo.

I was short from yesterday near highs 2353ish, sold at lows, then flipped long before the spike.

just trying to help out the folks who still pay attention to useless stuff lol.

Anyone wanna share their long plays for reps? Curious to see what some of you brahs have been holding onto and how its going. Repping people who post.

-Since you guys mentioned it NFLX has been a good long play for me up 13.84%
-FB up 20.62% from early last year, one of my best positions thus far buying at near bottom
-Picked up some T late 2015 up 22.86% also pays the highest dividend in my portfolio

Overall I'm up in my portfolio because most of my investments have been put into lower risk areas, however I did a few YOLO plays with a half K or so and one of them bombed hard. The others did surprisingly well. But my bad play was PNPL down 77.24% I'm just happy it was a small amount of money and with this being the case my plan is to hold lol

DIS stock was one of my worst plays ever for about a year. Got in late 2015 before Star Wars came out..... Then it tanked hard. Been holding onto it since then and now I'm finally only down 1.04% The play was long term so its just gonna sit in my portfolio for the next few years. That dividend honestly sucks balls though....Its only about 1x a year.....lol

Dividend investor checking in, although I have some stakes in some marijuana stocks (WEED, ACB, & MNJA) and a DFS company that started operations this past January. Got started in investing 4 months ago. Might add Aphria to my weed stocks but probably aiming at some US dividend aristocrats/challengers.

Individual Stocks:
TD took a chit a couple weeks ago for pulling a Wells Fargo, ended up buying more anyway.
H.TO got into the green yesterday
PG up 3.5% since buying last December.
Oakland Raiders--Toronto Raptors--Toronto Blue Jays--San Jose Sharks

Bros , I have 5k sitting in an old 401k account from previous employer I completely forgot about. Im going to move it to an IRA. Now my questions are:

Whats the best IRA company or site to use ?

Can I pick exactly what stocks i want to invest this money on ( ex amazon , alt coins , target etc ).

This is money I forget I had so its kinda expendable. Looking to hit something big hopefully. Thanks

they're merging with LVLT in September. Nice entry price right now and I think theyre going up.

Biggest profit/regret of my petty trading life this morning.

Bought 500 shares of HTGM on the open at $6ish. It got shakey at $8ish 15 minutes later. ..so I sold.

After brushing my teeth HTGM was at $11. Dipped back in 400 shares and took up 80 cents per share.

Also up on Ethereum $15 per. Bitcoin bombing.

gold is relatively interesting to me here and ( I am no jack'd guy) but feel the only way out of this political mess=monster spending Trump wants Obamacare to implode=economic cost will be insane if it does. Now that the vote lost it might be quite difficult to pass on budget. National debt will have to increase.

While the stock market obviously is insulated from any disaster/economic issue. it isn't again monster inflation. Gold has been creeping up 9-8% ytd silver more ( I think). Stealth rise, the next issue if we have any will be runaway inflation. Would be amazing to see gold surge above 2k (that might trigger the next top). Stawk markets surge everything surges where prices become extremely distorted and houston then we have a serious problem.


in GDX? that is your safest play to capture the top quality ones. Depends on your financial scenario but now is a perfect time to gain exposure to them. I am done hedging, lost so much money hedging for a decline. Gold/Miners seem like that are about to capture any fear and inflation.


Potential several errors in there its early, still semi high but you get the picture.


EDIT: disclosure I never liked gold but scooped up miners here. Might actually get physical gold just to stack a few and diversify. No way in hell am I touching bitcoin.

Every couple years it falls so out of favor and then just rips back. This is my first time not owning it in 6 years, but will gladly buy again if a similar scenario presents itself.

All retail brokers pretty similar. Vanguard/scottrade/etrade, etc. Doesn't really matter.

Yes you can pick stocks, alt coins unlikely for most. I'm sure you could find a broker that would work for like bitcoin, but this is more nichy and you'd have to do your googles here.

Price is contracting at these levels, I am buying it somewhere up here. Price expansion due.

Those blue lines are numbers I am paying attention to for a stop out actually.

Wouldn't be a bad idea if you went long if that HTF 61.8 holds again tho

Bitcoin needs to figure itself out right now without my $$$ at stake. It's not cool waiting an hour+ to transfer your Bitcoin (confirmations are slow).

so lets just say I was able to get into Ethereum at 50 and it rose to 75 I could see at any time ? If it dips I could just hold it as well until it profits ( if it does ) ?

Based on what knowledge and expertise can you claim they are "stupid coins"? Blockchain technology is up and coming with a lot of big name corporations invested in it (you won't see this in your nightly news). ie: JPMorgan, Microsoft, BP, Intel, Santander etc.

Yes, Block chain technology is impressive and has a lot of uses which have yet to be utilized to the fullest. These "coins" which use the underlying system are not particularly impressive and quite frankly will be overshadowed by other such systems that make other coins useless. Just look at what ethereum has done to bitcoin. And the general public just herps and derps and buys the latest coin and tries to hold it until they start losing money then panic sell. I didn't say people wouldn't make money, just that the general public will tend to lose more than make.
