FWIW I'm almost 10 years older than you and still doing full power.

Will almost certainly wrap up the training intensity for 1RM's after this one. Been a good run, but hard AF on the joints. Looking forward to being a spectator and repping the competitors next year.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

No, it sinks in while I am pausing. I will post it up. I am not going to count it simply because I do not want it to become a habit. I exhaled too early and the bar was heavy enough to take advantage of that loss of tightness. The press itself is all "unassisted".

I can see the value in that technique though, coiled up like spring for the rebound, I used to deadlift that way.

USAPL is strict, but it makes you control the weight. It's probably more strict than you are looking for here.
These are the main reasons I am not counting mineThat and I feel a certain obligation to be stricter in judging any entry I put in as opposed to the ones everyone else puts in. I am not looking for USAPL or WPF strict. Just controlled and proper. Like the 342 lift you are referring to, Bando, I would not have been aware that heaving was a thing at all. I looked through the last bench comp I held here and there are a few that did it

I am not making it a rule since I would be willing to bet the large majority of lifters here are not powerlifters training for a meet, but rather guys that are just lifting to get stronger, bigger, "toned", or whatever their goals are. When it comes to squat or deads I am a little stricter because the majority of people that compete in those ARE powerlifters. Not everyone goes for a heavy squat or dead, but most people try to max their bench out lol
You would be surprised just how much time I have to waste.

what is funny is you have motivated me to get my squat up some more. 20 more pounds and you would have made my max squat look that easy on bench

My squat is abysmalstupid knee

I can't squat without sleeves (nohomo) (nocrossfit). My knees just hurt if I don't have anything on them. I've been doing a bunch of bodyweight squats and lunges to see if that helps.

Yep, post it up, would be curious to see what Iceman considers heaving, I think sinkers are rare like you said.

Bench has to be the hardest to judge, you're looking at the feet, the ass and the bar in any fed. For deads you just look for lockout without hitching and squat looking for hip crease breaking parallel.

I think there's the most room for argument with bench.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

That's probably a good lift but that angle is terrible. It's like you picked the worst possible angle to vid a bench lol.

At any rate, we got time.

Except for me. I have 23 days and that will be my final submission, still tracking for 350 @ 181.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Well, this sucks you can't really read the paper.

This thing runs long enough I'll see about putting an actual entry in awhile later. I obviously have zero chance at even coming close to placing but I'll see what I can do towards the end
Here it is:

Hr3Pb0P5XUU
For the purposes of this contest, I think it's a good lift. You obviously have control of the weight. You may get a red light in a meet, though. Still not an obvious attempt to "cheat" the lift.

lmao I'm pretty sure you can increase the weight the next time you max out on a paused bench.

I just did 185 to appease the boss man while entering (by the rules) for the lulz.

It's not like it will matter in any way whatsoever if I hit a true 1RM, I'm only just now back up (2 years off recently) to 225x5x5

Had a couple paused 300's in the basement yesterday, didn't even think about videoing one for this comp until a couple hours later.

Krikey while typing that I jumped on my home scale and got 191, been 182 at the gym forever

I always wrestled 119, 126 in HS. Was always trying to get lighter, but the 132, 145 guys weren't much of a challenge.

Thank goodness for these challenges, I can reclaim my former glory, or at least be stronger than a Bro on the internet anyway.

Working on it. Bench is the one lift I am overly cautious on. Almost scared of, to be honest. It is the only lift that has fukked me up twice and I have had to build back up. My max is not about 30 pounds heavier than the last time I wrecked my shoulder, so.... yeah, every little bit is hard fought for and I try to keep form and rehab/prehab work at the top of my priorities. It would be a good feel to hit 4 plates though

Give me one night and I swear the last word in your mind will be "cuddly" when you think of me
