Damn brah you get me 5k, let alone a later flight, plus 3 or more additional free flights anywhere in the US anytime, and I'm skipping my way over to the closest airport bar, buying myself a cpuple drinks and getting the cute girl next to me to smash in the handicap bathroom. They're gonna be removing random passengers for me next time around for those free flights they gave me.

I actually doubt it. I am sure they will try to settle just because of the PR, but in actual court they will win. You agree to all their terms when buying seats. So they are going to prove he agreed to the possibility of being removed off flights, then he refused to get up. What other option is there other than forcing him to be removed.

Their plane their rules.

How an airline overbooks flights still is beyond me. You know how many seats you have on the aircraft, and you're using computer systems to sell tickets....

I give zero fuks about what fine print they have in the terms and conditions, common sense says why they hell would you forcibly remove a paying passenger already seated for another passenger who showed up later? What makes that customer more important than this one?

I hope United and airport security gets their chit pushed in during litigation just for acting like Nazi kunts.

It doesn't matter if the offer covered the cost of the ticket plus whatever amount of money. It wasn't a fair offer.
How can I say this? Because out of the hundred plus people on the flight they couldn't get anyone to agree to it. Everyone on that flight agreed that the offer wasn't worth giving up their seat.


I wouldn't have gotten up either. I would have told them to increase that number until I (or anyone else on that flight) found it reasonable to give up the seat I had already made a financial contractual agreement for.
