Idris Elba as Heimdall is badass though.



I'm an actual comic fan and it doesn't bother me that Valkyrie isnt tall and blonde, or that she isn't white in the movie. It's just that Thompson looks so short and stumpy. Doesn't look like a badass so could take on thor at all.
What I wanted was someone who was going to play the opposite and be even more of the ‘guy’ character than the guys.
This us a stupid fukin comment. What does it even mean? "More of a guy than the guys" please fukin go.

If you're that offended by the casts then don't go watch the movie. Once the directors realize they can't make money by casting the wrong people they'll stop. Problem is, all of you cry on the Internet and then proceed to go give your money to these directors.

I don't care who they cast. If I think the movie will suck I just won't go watch it.

i do think there is something to be said about mastering one fighting style making it easier to learn another - he was supposed to be a combat expert and had a lot of fighting experience, but yeah sometimes you just gotta accept its a movie

She plays a minor character in regards to how well known the character is to the general public. Even general comic book fans will probably agree that they don't know much about her mythos in the comic book Thor. So them casting a black girl to play her isn't much of a big deal. I do agree though that it stinks of social justice bs. But meh, it's isn't that important.

It's the same reason Idris Elba plays one of the roles as well. It's a minor character. It's a bit goofy in principle, but people don't care since Idris Elba is cool.

I swear, it's like some of you are logically impaired. The reason Hollywood casts whites into these roles is because they want to choose actors that will get them the most positive outcome for their investment. When Hollywood casts white actors such as these(popular by the way), they're hoping their notoriety will get people to the theaters. What I always ask people that have objections to casting like this is, who would you have cast instead if you were a casting agent and your career depended on it. Remember, you're trying to get as many people interested in the film as possible. I'm willing to bet the people crying foul here couldn't even name actors that could compete with the ones chosen for the roles.

Tom Cruise was the biggest actor in the world at the time that that film was made. Hollywood would have found some way to fit him in an Eskimo movie if they could.

By the way, expect films to get more racist, western-wise than before. The Chinese movie going public is becoming a big influence in Hollywood. If you thought you were ever going to see a black James Bond, say good bye to that dream and so on. Chinese do not respond well movies that are predominant in black leads or concept. Money talks. And right now, the money is in China. And they don't adhere to the same political correct bs we do here in the states.

Don't agree with a casting decision? Vote with your wallet. Don't pay to see the film and if enough people do the same* they'll bow to the pressure. Films exist to make money first and foremost.

*Won't happen, most people aren't complete retards who'll boycott a film because some bint was cast as a background character. I agreed with doing it for Ghostbusters though.
