I just picked up two cybex benches for 50 bucks.

The adjustable one and a 90 degree one.

Same ones I see at gyms, I would've paid 200 for the adjustable one alone.

I always lowball, why not?

Didn't Gary Fisher stop making mountain bikes in the mid 2000s? Lol at trying to sell a bike that's a decade old for that...it MIGHT be worth $500 if it's in pristine condition.

I heard that too, but didn't find but a few reported cases. I never rode it. Salesman guy at my former company knew i rode a lot and just gave it to me. Honestly, i didn't really jump at the chance to ride it because of what you mentioned lol.

Reminds me of the skydiving dudes messing with peoples heads during their first jumps ... "After this jump that rig will have reached its recommended safety margin and will need to be replaced." So many WTF looks from first time jumpers.

My favorite thing to do is follow an item that hasn't sold after my first minister of lowball offer is sent off.

Then lowball my own lowball as time goes on.

Guy asking $600? I'll lowball him $150

Month later he's at $550? I'll lowball him $100

Another month he's at $425? I'll lowball him at $70

Sold a TV to this shady looking guy who had tattoos on his neck, puffy jacket, the works. I turned the TV on and showed him it worked. He paid me then I walked it out to his car. He opens his trunk, which was filled with a bunch of other junk and I tell him he probably doesn't want to lay the TV down, as the screen is more susceptible to bending/breaking. He gets in an argument with me and I tell him it's on him if he breaks the tv on his way back home, and if that happens he's not getting his money back. He accuses me of trying to sell him a broken tv, despite me showing him it worked, and I just keep telling him if anything happens or if the screen cracks I'm not giving his money back, and even tell him if he wants he can go buy a TV from someone else or whatever. He ends up just saying he'll take it, but if it breaks he's coming back.

Have dealt with maybe 5 normal people out of like 40-50 over the past 10 years.

Lowballing is like the new form of gambling, like making a huge raise. Unlike losing your raise to a potential re-raise you can't accept, worst they can say is no, but the best thing they can do is say yes.

I got a West Elm coffee table that looks expensive for only $20. My roommate was shocked, I'm furnishing most of the apt now because I low ball everyone on Craigslist until one person submits.

My 65" Samsung SUHD Curved was only $1000, so like it's technically a $925 TV if you wanna consider taxes / disposal fee.

Sectional Couch was $85

West Elm Coffee Table $20

And now need a TV stand, which is gonna be $100 if I pick this one up.

Just furniture is just $205 once I get that TV stand.

A friend of mine went to a meet, the guy hands him an envelope and gets upset when my friend starts counting the money. Of course the money's short, so my friend just walks off...and the guy tries to follow him back to his house.
