Sounds like you just need to shoot more so then you can justify a Razor.

Ok, so your $2k scopes are all neat and everything. But battery life aside, are Vortex red dots not as good Aimpoints on a hard use rifle? I used to think people thought they were a solid option, but it sounds like they mean for more of a range toy and not as a "duty optic"* if you will.
*Non combat use, obviously.

They're choosing to engage a threat that they know exists, so they have some added luxury compared to say, a homeowner being awoken in the middle of the night by a broken window or kicked down door. You're saving ~150 bucks compared to a PRO on sale. Probably a great choice for your 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 100th AR if you're on that Procon time.

17 rd. Mags for the VP9, anyone have info on these? May pick a few up, if I ever get around to shooting 3 gun or something I'll check to see if the mag extensions work on these as well.

Just lmao at attempting to chit talk Vortex. At basically any given price range you'd be hard pressed to find a better optic. Need a scope and have a $200 budget? Vortex. $600 budget? Vortex. $2,500+ budget? Vortex. Pretty much same goes for their red dot and prism optics too. The bad ass warranty is just the cherry on top.
