A few things come to mind, and I realize it's past the point of their decision and your chance to give your side.

Does this place have some type of agreement that while working there you will not fraternize with fellow employees? Or maybe something less vague, is there something about bringing discredit to the company? The first one would leave you screwed, the second is for interpretation and would depend on how they would define that. It would be easier to argue that second point. If neither of those are in the terms of your employment, you have way more freedom.

Then you'd go into when this happened, harder since it was over text, but was it taking place during work hours? If not, who are they to delve into your business if it was not affecting the workplace? They would be hard pressed to fire you for two adults that work together talking outside of work over text message.

Just saw that it's union backed, which is excellent for you. If you did not violate any terms of your employment, they are going to have a hard time firing you. Even if they want to say you were being inappropriate, not necessarily against employment terms, that's hardly grounds for termination and even more-so if the conversations were not inside of work.

So many women pull the sexual harassment card, and many companies are scared to fight that. If you guys have had sexual contact and prior to this text she didn't say stop messaging me or something, I again would find it hard to say it was sexual harassment. That shouldn't be a trump card that gets someone fired because a female wants to cry sexual harassment. The fact that you're union backed gives me hope they won't be able to just bend easily and fire you.
