Why dont you try to get clients on the side then? Post CL ads? Post FB ads for training and make a website. Do your research and make a proper video. Go do in house sessions. Rich people love when you come to them. Find a bull shi.t new excercise and target people with it.

No idea on setting up the business for legal reasons. Upwork.com for hiring a freelancer. Logo - $200. Website, depends on what you need. $500-$3000 depending on how in dpeth it is. Our current one cost $3,000 to build but the new one in dev is $10,000 due to the amount of plugins and features were working with

Since you are in a situation similar to my own I am going to issue you a challenge.

Do your best to balance your luxury with your charity.
Not really. I feel like I worked for what I have. I grew up lower middle class. Ive let my dad retire and I give both my parents money monthly. I bought them a house, and feel like everything Ive gotten is attributed to my family, myself, and the misc.

Charity, I dont do enough, but id say we donate around $10,000 a year. Definitely need to do more. My goal is to one day open a pet shelter. Thatd be amazing. i love dogs.

When you expanded the company was it self funded or did you have outside investors?

What were some of the biggest mistakes you had and what did you learn from them, which were the best experiences?

I just accepted an offer out of college and will be doing pretty for myself, advice on personal finance and the long run?

Wow, it's been forever.

I bet half the new posters don't know who you are. How's business? I remember talking to you WAYYYYY back, I still use your business sometimes as an example when talking with friends.

Is it still as profitable as it used to be? What's changed? I'll hit $1m by about 31/32 at the latest assuming the market doesn't tank.

In after Lucifer and ShayZ. Bunch of money making people ITT.

I've never used a mega backdoor, interesting. I've done backdoor roths for a few years, did this years just a few weeks ago. So you can sometimes contribute to a 401k after tax, and then move that into a Roth?

Is the Roth through your personal brokerage or does it have to be through your employer plan?

What's the limit?

I know I could Google this but you guys are more fun to talk to.

Its worth it and feels great giving back. We may have worked hard for what we have but we also had a lot of circumstances that let our hard work mean something, it is good to never forget that.

If you can try to get involved with education. This week I set up a home school collective with computers and internet access. They closed the local school and a lot of parents didn't want their kids on the bus for 3 hours a day so home school was the only viable option.

Nice to see an old school misc brah hustle and make it.

So let's say I have an idea for a nich market. It's a hobby I'm very knowledgeable about and has been around forever. Do I just find in demand products and flip them and find what works and scale up from there? Between finding suppliers and setting up a website and advertising, how much of an initial workload is involved? I just finished finals and have way more free time to do something like this. I don't even care if it turns a profit. I'm about to start my senior year studying accounting and I would love to have something on the side like an ebusiness even if it is just a learning experience. I have a few thousand in cash I could spend.

The max 401k overall contribution is $54k. If your employer's 401k plan allows it, then you can contribute that extra $36k (above the $18k) in after-tax contributions and convert it to Roth in-plan. It doesn't impact your $5500 personal IRA contribution.

Edit: or SEP IRA apparently (set up by a business owner) ^^

How did you even go from banking to selling parts of cellphones? Like how did you know what parts to buy, what parts actually sold? Do you know a lot about stuff like that?

I'd kind of like to try my hand at ecommerce to see if I can start something of my own. How did you find your niche market? Did you just fall into it by chance? Would like e-mentorship if possible too brah. You are an inspiration srs. So sick of being a wagecuck

it's insane what you can do with FB targeting these days

plus, since it seems like you're getting good traffic, you really should be building your FB pixel (which is like a little line of code you install on your site) so you can use FB 'intelligence' to find you more similar customers

FB stores all your private data for a reason m8. it's so business owners like you and me can make a killing using it
thanks for the suggestion, i didnt think of it. Will ask my adwords company

Is it still as profitable as it used to be? What's changed? I'll hit $1m by about 31/32 at the latest assuming the market doesn't tank.
more profitable now. We dont sell anything on ebay or amazon anymore. All off the website.

Its a SEP IRA.

I have a few thousand in cash I could spend.
pretty much. Join Fb groups with like minded buyers. So I sell cell phone parts Im in a lot of repair groups for cell phone store owners.

Edit: or SEP IRA apparently (set up by a business owner) ^^
SEP here.

o fuk i just got an idea. it was an electronic item that took forever to get... had to get it from another country. maybe others don't buy it for the reason i almost didnt. if i can somehow get them easily and a lot of them i could possibly sell them for some profit too.
ok, so do it

trial and error. I searched ebay for stuff on alibaba, found stuff with margins and started selling that

Great thread.

For the OP: how did/do you differentiate yourself from other competitors (amazon etc.)? Or are your products very niche?

Congrats on your continued success.
