now that I've had time to think. I'm gonna rethink my strategy. I would LDAR, sue the owner, have doggo put down, profit.

Over power it and choke it out. Now you are gonna suffer some serious bites.

When I was a 10 year old kid, my parents sometimes allowed me to take our German Sheperd for a short walk without them. I have separated him from a pitbull multiple times.
Any healthy adult human man or woman can overpower a dog with ease unless it's huge.
Stomp/Fall on it's rips/back and the pitbull will collapse under your weight and likely break some bones. Grab it's front legs and it becomes helpless.

I saw a guy doing some training once on how to handle agressive dogs and he said when it jumps up to bite your throat hold out your arm so that it locks on to the forearm and when it is locked on take it to ground so it is lying on its back and use your legs to pull its front legs apart. Once you have snapped the two front legs by pulling them apart it will die. Don't know how accurate this is and wouldn't like to try it but I really hope I never have to find out if it works or not.

Yeah that all sounds good in theory. Irl you're very unlikely to stop it from biting you and anyone who's ever been attacked by a dog knows their bites are extremely painful and debilitating. One serious bite would knock the fight out of 99% of miscers even with adrenaline etc..... Humans are the top of the food chain because of our minds and tool usage, our physical attributes are relatively unimpressive
Grabbing its front legs is a decent strategy. The best imo would be to wrap something around one arm and goad it into latching on, then use the other to control its head/neck... Then you're possibly in with a chance of choking it

Sadly there isn't much you can do. I've been in a throwdown with a german shepherd before. Grabbed onto my leg and it shook its head back and forth too fast for me to do anything. Like my leg was a rag doll. F**ckin b*tch couldn't control her dog

Give it my arm (jumper wrapped since i always were jumpers) or foot (shoes) and go from there i guess. No way i will let it have no target and give it the chance to catch my throat. Even though 6 foot master race.

Yell and stand your ground.
Time a sharp, yet strong low kick at center mass. No sweeping the legs or headshots, just make sure it feels your power.
If it's still attacking after a kick you've got to strike that dog as hard as you possibly can with kicks and punches. Fight or flight time.

Some jackass let their pit bull run free around here a while back. It came up on my porch and tried to kill my cat. I kicked it in the face full force and it ran away whimpering havent seen it since.
A full grown man can easily kill a pit as long as they aren't a low test cuck

This is a serious post. First, I don't think anyone here is quick enough to dodge an attack so, I assume it will bite my forearm and hold onto it. I would give him my arm before my neck and face, so then I would drop a north and south elbow on its head repeatedly, probably no the best strategy but it is probably a realistic one. I would like gauge the eyes but that probably isn't possible when the dog isn't sitting still for me.

I was listening to ACS podcast and Gabbi Reece (volleyball player) said her husband, who is a famous surfer I forget his be, killed a pitbull with his bare hands.
How he did this was he allowed the pitbull to latch onto his forearm. Then he used his other arm to wrap around its neck then fell on top of it. This maneuver choked the pitbull out and eventually killed it.
Sounds lucky but legit way to best a pitbull.
Also, I guess the pitbull was attacking their dog that's why he had do fight it I guess. Anyway good luck.

ITT people who have never gone 1 on 1 with any animal, let alone a dog bred to be a bad mofo.
You underestimate the speed of dogs running after a target. Go look at some runt running faster than even the likes of Usain Bolt could run and its just chasing a fukin ball or stick. You're gonna have to think real quick and react faster when you see the dog coming and then process whats happening. Most people freeze up because they're desk jockeys and their caveman hunter instinct is buried beneath whats on television and the internet.
So then you about to go down with the dog. LOL @ you kicking a dog as it runs full pelt at you and you run or kick full pelt. Bad idea because you're going to break your foot, ankle and leg in one go and possibly dislocate your hip. Try fighting a dog whilst being a cripple, you're dead meat.
You kick a dog in the sides if it isn't attacking you, never front on. Just LMFAO!
Other messy details - dogs can chew through your arms and legs like they chew through any toy or bone. Think that tasty bone marrow or your tattoos gonna stop those teeth? Nope.
Blood loss: nuff said.
If you want to tackle a dog 1 on 1 you need to get rid of its ability to bite you. Dogs are fukin useless without their mouths. They are not cats so just muzzle them or choke them with your legs and bodyweight.
Saying that, gun or knife works but who says you're gonna see the dog before it gets you?
