Is it disrespectful to Indian (Punjabi) culture if I date an Indian girl?

Would Punjabi parents be against me (white male) dating their daughter?


Are most Indian girls open to marrying or dating a white guy? Seems like most of them don't want to marry outside of their culture.

All the Indian girls I knew growing up have dated at least 1 white guy or are dating a white guy rn srs. It's not disrespectful as long as you are polite to her family and show respect for her culture/heritage.

It varies quite a bit. I have some family that wouldn't think of their kids having a non Indian spouse. On the other hand, my cousin's husband's sister married a non Indian and their family is fine with it.

How is it disrespectful to their culture she has free will. If white parents arent okay with their white child dating outside race theyre racist old white fascists.

If its Indians who hate non Iindians the problem is with you not being polite enough to not exist? this double standard doesn't add up. If you treat them and their daughter with respect and you make their daughter happy and they have a problem still they're no different than white people who hate non-whites.

depends on the fam. many won't like it, some won't care. my rents couldn't care less but i know plenty that would never approve

the girl.. can't say i know many punjabi girls that would marry a white dude.

I have known one Indian (Punjab) girl who was (best looking Indian girl ever seen) and her parents did not approve of her dating a white guy and were upset about it when they found out.She ended up marrying an Indian guy.

IME (ex-muslim in a south Asian community) south asian culture is generally very ethnocentric, and do not like their offspring dating/marrying outside of their ethnicity.

However, there are always exceptions, so you need to look at things on a case by case basis.

I don't think that the majority of south asian woman would never date a black brah, purely based on race, however I have seen the odd pairing and have had South Asian women flirt with me. Case by Case.

If you are whiteandhave a respected career, you are probably more likely to be accepted/tolerated.
