Depends on what you're gonna do.

A SSD would generally be enough if you're just gonna casually game.
If you get very bad performance you can buy a Ryzen 1600 and a B350 mobo (Asus Strix B350F e.g. or you could get even cheaper boards, Asus has many good boards).

SSD and GPU is what you will feel and you already have a new GPU.

There are CPU upgrades for 1150 but the holy damn are they expensive price : performance. The Core i7-4770K with an OC would be a nice bump......but not nice enough to justify $400.

Get a SSD over a better processor. SSD make a huge difference, its crazy.

Awsome thanks for the suggestions guys. Looks like most people just recommend a ssd so that's what ill go with. Than ill buy a 1440p monitor.

Its not that generic. That depends on what programs you're running. An SSD could make a noticeable difference or very little.

I believe that there is a small downside to "infinity fabric". If the app/OS is not aware of a core linked to another core and treats them like they are on the same core there can be a small latency hit as the cores talk to each other.

This is fixable though. If the app/OS knows which processing cores can talk to each other more efficiently then the app/OS can link up threads using the same data on the same core.

We are already starting to see optimization so this seems to be a simple fix.

What is the best alternative to the rx 480? I heard the rx 480 is worth like $500 on ebay now and i want to sell it.

That makes sense. Seems like some games are getting better already as well..

Hopefully in the next gen they can reduce that latency between the CCXs. Also getting them to go beyond the 4GHz barrier without stupid amounts of voltage/cooling would be nice too.

The speed between CCXs (infinity fabric) is dependent on RAM speed.

Thus the higher MHz RAM, the faster the communication between CCXs.

Finished the build and it's great.

I wanted to add more RGB lighting and was wondering can I add a different brand of rgb case fans to my case or do they all have to be same brand?

Currently have Corsair 460x with sp120 rgb fans but want to add thermaltake riing rgb fans too, will it work?

Wholesaler by me is selling a EVGA GTX 1080 Superclocked, apparently was an amazon return. They listed it at 799 and I got them down to 550.

My question is would a warranty still exist through EVGA? they dont have a receipt or any other info. If I do buy it there is a 30 day return on it still.

550 all in is a steal I'm thinking for a 1080

Anyone wanna give me some input on getting a new gaming laptop?
I already have a gaming desktop but I travel for a living so I typically play some games in my hotel room and do some work.

My old Sager is just a brute to carry around airports these days. I'd like something thinner and lighter, but I'd like to get something with a 1070.

Budget is under $3k.
