Yes - they serve that rice with everything. Alot of fried fish, Kelewele which is really spicy fried plantains... the best is their hot sauce called "s-h-i-t-o"....(no censor)....its basically a black pepper paste with oil and dried fish and some herbs. Looks as disgusting as its name implies, but its great. Its all spicy, which I love.

Most Rwandans are not aware about social issues in the states. You have to understand, in the same way that you never hear anything good from this side of the world, we also never hear anything bad from that side unless we are looking for it.

God, that sounds disgusting. I don't eat fish so that does not sound like a good time. I love plantain though. We fry sweet plantain here and it's called mizuzu. It's the best.

I don't have the stats on it but it is pretty low. I think it was about 5% in 2010.

Yes. We are for all intents and purposes, a 23 year old country, which means that there are opportunities in just about anything. And the country is welcoming to foreigners. The labour laws protect Rwandans but with so much of our population under 17 and many more not as skilled as the competition, there's a lot of room for others.

It's pretty fun actually. There are clubs and bars (mostly open air) that get pretty packed during the holiday seasons. The rest of the time people attend house parties for the most part. There is almost always something on of that sort every weekend.

This girl's channel has a fairly decent review of the party scene. She's a Rwandan/Jamaican dj here in Kigali.

Africa has a lot of great places to go, West Africa, East, North, and South. I'm definitely gonna visit some day.. Anybody who believed it to be mud huts as shown on TV shouldn't be allowed to go.

Mostly afrobeat - kizomba sound - with a trad flavour. Soukous is more DRC style.

Local Rwandan artists are in love with autotune though. lol. It works for them since their fans adore anything they release. Myself included. shameful/10 but it's the cold truth.

Generally the music played in the clubs and at parties is a lot of Afro beat from around the continent and American pop.

Yes, it's been tough here in the states for blacks, would be nice if we all just went back to our roots and built the country up even more. I have a construction management degree, would transfer over nicely and if I'm not mistaken, black minorities can get a free education within the certain countries

I've been to three countries in the East and the North. The only country that Westerners would go for "fun" are the Swahili countries and the Islands around it let's be honest, it's a hub for Western destination for a long time (brb, tropical lifestyle, nightlife, landscape, cheap mansions, residency cheap prices etc) whereas most of the others went through the mess in the past - (communism, dictatorships and civil wars).


It's good to see African countries are recovering now and thank you for opening miscers mind here because most of them think it's all huts, villages, warlords and all that due to media and the Hollywood portrayal.

Hey it's getting bad in the West when it comes to marriage. As I get older I find myself having a more realistic approach to finding a wife and I leave almost all options open. It's what western men have to do these days if they want a traditional family srs.
