I never really felt a reason to go over 405. Even when I was 230 (I'm 200 in my avi, that's my current size). Could I do more weight, sure, but I really don't see a reason to.
I prefer to do more reps of 315 to be honest. Stiff legged I find that less weight has actually produced more results. I stick to 185 for that.

Lifting for strength =/= lifting for size.
ITT insecure guys who lift purely so other people know they lift. LOL you all are the type to wear the tightest shirt possible and every clothing choice you make before leaving the house is geared towards letting others know you lift.

as an extreme ectomorph i need to hit heavy compounds or id still weigh 110lbs. That being said I have no desire to go over a 3 plate dead and 2 plate squat which are already close to 3x and 2x bw. Still run a 6min mile too.. haters gonna hate.

I am really curious to see what bull**** people think and use to explain when they are asked if building strength builds size.
For one thing, I realize that they have dumbed themselves down to the idea that powerlifting is the only way to train for strength, then say bull**** like strength isn't size because they see undeveloped powerlifters.
Ask any accomplished bodybuilder and they will tell you that they are STRONG, and no *******s, it doesn't mean they didn't focus on strength and still got strong, it means they focus on strength gains in high rep ranges. brb kai green is not strong because he only lifts heavy in high rep ranges.
logic, not even once.
and when you post my avi, I will remind you that doesn't automatically make any accomplished bodybuilder weak.

Deadlifting is definitely not mandatory, there are tons of ways to work around it. Especially if your goal is to just look good/build some strength (not talking about people trying to compete as wrestlers or power lifters, etc.), they aren't even worth it IMO.
Doing them fairly light is one thing, but going heavy for low reps will show diminshed results compared to risk and energy spent doing them. I've seen numerous dudes who can deadlift and squat in the 4 plate range but have chitty upper body strength and still hardly look like they lift in a T-shirt. Newsflash - the moment you leave the gym/get off the misc, no one gives two chits about your deadlift and squat maxes, so don't let your ego hang on them so much.
Also, lol when obvious celltecher bicyclists frogteched to the gills preach anything to lifetime natty lifters as if they're even playing the same game.

There's always a counter argument to an argument which then has a counter to that counter argument and so on..
It's just an endless cycle.
